Here are some miscellaneous new 'ku for you!
ship under attack
loss of hull integrity
what a day it's been
we thought he was mad
when he said he could bring back
his dog
we didn't believe
Yeah, I know it's silly. I was inspired by Tim Burton's Frankenweenie.
quantum flux takes me
to another world
where we are still together
TIME TRAVEL
going back in time
is seldom easy
it takes lots of cash
not a day goes by
that i don't wish i could go
and love you all over again
naked in the past,
i forgot something
the first rule of time travel:
you can't go in clothes
Think The Terminator
All of these poems are based on different themes.
BEDTIME STORIES
sleeping beauty dreams
of her prince
so foolish, touching that wheel
fell asleep to old stories
they live inside of me
happily, i pass them on
virtual reality
makes Cinderella's
castle come to life
THE PLANETS
Pluto,
icy ball of rock
too far away from the sun,
it hangs in darkness
Flatworld,
home of tubloidal things,
turns on the head of a pin
DAILY LIFE IN THE YEAR 5000
rebreather failure
took my wife away from me
i better plant more trees
he walks down the street,
floating chrome eyes watching him
he loves big brother!
domed cities sparkle
under the sun's harsh light
outsiders cry: "Let us in!"
grand millenium
free of war and famine
fountain of singing waters
on Times Square the dropped the ball
lights, people, and stims
first hangover of new year
new millenium
brings about new age
dawn of nano sapiens
for sale:
three acres beachfront
nicest land in Nevada
COLLABORATIONS
We glitter like stars,
The stars will become the truth,
When we judge red mars.
(a collaboration with Andrew G. McCann, lines 1 and 2)
Journey to the farthest star
Far from Old Earth's wrath
We have travelled long and far
Stars litter our path
(James/Andy/James/Andy)
in the dark of space,
my ceramic hands precise
fix the broken probe
(James/Andy/James)
the old red sun shows
down on the barren landscape
and the last human
sits and enjoys the quiet
(Andy/James/Andy/James)
downtown Atlantis
is not quite so busy now
waves lap at my feet
(Andy/James/Andy)
CLASSIC NOVELS
this blasted Bug war
you nuke em and still more come
...but we are closer...
Inspired by Robert A. Heinlein's Starship Troopers
the baying of thoats
we stir in our sleeping furs
daybreak on barsoom
Inspired by the John Carter on Mars series by Edgar Rice Burroughs.
