was born 35 years ago in Wynyard,
Saskatchewan, a small town of about 2000 people. I had a typical childhood and
education. Growing up in a small town, one learns to do things to keep yourself
busy, which I consider a real growth experience. I loved to read and was very
content to spend time doing various art and craft activities when I wasn't busy
with my sister, my 3 brothers, or my friends.
When I was 5,
my parents let me start piano lessons, which I really loved. |

My father plays trumpet and my mother,
piano. My whole family is very musical and I find that
the love of music is a great source of joy in my life. I was always involved in
singing, as a soloist or in choirs in my school or church. I also picked up the
flute in grade 6 for school band. I honestly can't imagine what my life would
be like if I hadn't become involved in music. Whether I'm listening,
participating, or creating it myself, music is an important outlet for me. More
on that later. |
