Special Distinctions Cray Mingla was a brilliant scientist and at one time, a student of Luke Skywalker's at the Jedi Academy on Yavin 4. However, her Force abilities were limited, so she went back to her research. She later joined Luke in his effort to stop the Imperial Juggernaut "The Eye of Palpatine." During climactic battle aboard the ship, Cray gave her life so that the trapped Jedi Callista could live by switching bodies. Cray had recently lost her lover, and although his "essence" had been transfered into a droid, she saw no reason to live without love and wanted to offer someone else the chance. However, after switching bodies, Callista discovered she could no longer feel the Force, nor be felt as part of it by Luke. Ultimately, Callista left Luke to find her way back to the force on her own. Links No known links.
