Admiral DaalaSpecial Note: The Admiral Daala biography that appears has been generously offered to The Women of Star Wars Home Page by it's author, Sara Gregory. The biography appeared a part of a much larger Admiral Daala site, accessible through the link below. If you are an Admiral Daala fan, I strongly urge you to take a look at The Knight Hammer. Sara Beth isn't maintaining it any longer, but while it is available, you should take a look. The only changes I have made to the original bio is to reformat it for this page, and to cross-link the reference to Callista. Otherwise, it appears below as Sara posted it to her own site.

The Empire, then what was left of it.
Special Distinctions
Admiral Daala is the only woman ever to become an Imperial Admiral. She graduated from the Imperial Military Academy on Carida. She was a tactical genius, but she was passed over for promotions due to the Emperor's prejudice against women. Daala began putting her ideas on the HoloNet using a false persona. Several of her truly radical ideas paid off, catching the attention of Moff Tarkin. He assigned Daala to his personal staff, and they eventually became lovers. Daala's first appearance in the Star Wars universe was in the Jedi Academy Trilogy. After Tarkin was promoted to Grand Moff, he gave Daala command of 4 Star Destroyers to guard a secret weapons operation in the black hole cluster near Kessel which is known as the Maw. Not even the Emperor was aware of Maw Installation's existence. The scientists there developed the Death Star as well as an even more powerful weapon known as the Sun Crusher. Eleven years later, Han Solo, Chewbacca, and Kyp Durron discovered the Installation while fleeing from Kessel. After being interrogated, they escaped with the Sun Crusher and destroyed one of Daala's Star Destroyers in the process. Daala leaves the Maw with her fleet and begins attacking peaceful New Republic worlds, such as Calimari. She is eventually defeated by the New Republic Fleet along with Kyp Durron and the stolen Sun Crusher. Although she was presumed dead for several years, Daala returned about a year and a half later in Darksaber and joined forces with Admiral Pellaeon in an attempt to bring unity to the surviving Imperial forces. Daala commanded the Knight Hammer, a black Super Star Destroyer, in an attempt to destroy the Jedi Academy, but the Jedi trainees destroyed her ship. Daala also had a duel with Callista just before the ship exploded. She was presumed dead again, but she actually managed to escape, this time in an escape pod. She appears again in Planet of Twilight, however she no longer wants to continue fighting. She even helps the New Republic forces defeat the evil Seti Ashgad. At the end of the story, Daala is reunited with her first true love, Liegeus Sarpaetius Vorn. We can only assume that they go on to live happily ever after....just like everyone else does.

The Knight Hammer has got to be one of the best character sites I've ever seen.
