Affliations

Leia is the daughter of Anakin Skywalker, sister of Luke Skywalker, wife of Han Solo, and mother of Jaina, Jacen, and Anakin Solo.

Leia was raised as the adopted daughter of Bail Organa, a member of the Royal House of Alderaan. At her father's side, she learned to value all life and follows the Light side of the Force. She served in the Senate until it was dispanded by the Emperor.

While in the Senate, Leia began working with the Rebel Alliance to overthrow the Emperor. She became of the most important leaders in the Rebellion following Moff Tarkin's destruction of Alderaan.

Following the defeat of the Empire, Leia has returned to politics, rising to Chief of State of the New Republic.

Special Distinctions

Leia is force-sensitive, but her training in the Force suffers from a lack of time due to her official duties as a head of State, and as a parent. She is sometimes practices on her own, knowing that she has not given her Force abilities the care she should. She has trained somewhat with Luke, but in Planet of Twilight by Barbara Hambly, Leia is tutored by Callista, who teaches her how to best use a lightsaber, as a woman.

Links

I'm sure there are tons of Leia links out there. For starters, here's the link to the Leia page at the Official Star Wars Web Site.
