Born in Valdez, Alaska, in 2335, Riker serves as First Officer on the U.S.S. Enterprise. Riker graduated from the Academy in 2357, ranking eighth in his graduating class. He was then assigned to the U.S.S. Pegasus, and later to the starbase on Betazed. Then he was transferred to the U.S.S. Potemkin. Later, he was given the assignment of first officer aboard the U.S.S. Hood. He was then transferred to the U.S.S. Enterprise. Riker has been offered command of the U.S.S. Drake, U.S.S. Aries, and U.S.S. Melbourne. At this point, it is generally agreed that he could have command of any available vessel, should he request it.
One of Riker's paternal ancestors, Colonel Thaddeus Riker ("Old Iron
Boots"), was a highly respected officer in the Civil War (mid 1800's,
United States of America, Earth). Riker is accomplished at
Ambo-Jitsu, and enjoys playing jazz trombone.
