understandably, the list below is still tentative. it is a work in progress. there are still a whole lot of other cool sites out there that i've yet to discover. i'll be adding to this list whenever i come across a site that tickles me pink. figuratively speaking, of course. i do not really like being literally tickled pink. it is a most cruel form of torture, perhaps the cruelest.

the creatures in my head
an interesting site of strange creatures born from the imagination of the artist. he thinks up of seemingly simple phrases and then proceeds to draw weird-looking creatures to go with these phrases. and vice versa, methinks.
something positive
the artist thinks up of fictional stories involving characters based on himself and his real-life friends. at least, i sure hope they are fictional stories. they just seem too bizarre to be based on true events to me. then again, one can never tell how strange reality can be in this crazy world of ours. the stories in this series can be dramatic at times but are typically quite funny. they tend to focus on adult and controversial topics though and thus may require a bit of maturity to appreciate. definitely not for the overly sensitive.
scary go round
it has long been an accepted fact that strange and wacky things can happen in a small town or village. why, it is downright required even. scary go round is a classic example.
what really drew me to this online comic when i first stumbled on it several years back was the way it was drawn using photoshop. the artist has since opted to draw the comic by hand and only use photoshop to put in the shades and colors. i still like the comic though and faithfully follow the characters as they go from one adventure to another. the artist said that he might go back to drawing the comic using photoshop sometime in the future and i eagerly await that momentous event.
exploding dog
i must confess that the sadistic side of my personality was incredibly piqued when i first saw the link leading to this site. exploding dog? now what kind of site would have such a title? images of different ways of making dogs go boom certainly come to mind. fortunately, the site has little to do with a mentally deranged guy and his obsession with dogs and explosives. the artist asks his readers to send in phrases and he makes comics out of them. his style is simple but great. you have to see it to appreciate it though. yeah. it's one of those. but you'll be glad you took the time to look it up.
diesel sweeties
it's quite hard to describe this site, story-wise. it is quite an entertaining read though you need to be internet savvy to appreciate some of the jokes. what i really liked about the comic is the pixelated way it has been drawn. kinda takes me back to my old personal webpage.
beaver and steve
come and see the bizarre and unbelievable adventures of beaver and steve. follow them as they go from wacky caper to wacky caper.
cat and girl
if you feel like a bit of humor that makes you think, then you might want to check out cat and girl. the drawing style's not bad too. a bit better than the way i draw, that's for sure.
girly
it's all about the adventures of a self-proclaimed heroine and her sidekick/lesbian lover as they try to make the world a better place to live in.
girls with slingshots
it took me a while to realize that slingshot, in this context, was a kind of alcoholic drink. i've never been much of a drinker; can't take the stuff, poor me. girls with slingshots is mostly about one woman's search for financial, as well as romantic, security. she is helped along the way by her best friend, whose most valuable asset appears to be her ample bossoms that give her near-supernatural influence over men, by her "talking" cactus, and by a whole slew of other interesting characters.
little gamers
little gamers is all about two guys who are into console and computer gaming and internet porn. needless to say, one has to be quite savvy about gaming and internet terms to appreciate many of the jokes in this comic.
white ninja
the artist has a strange and disturbing, one can even say shocking, sense of humor. his style is rudimentary at best yet somehow appealing; it's one of those things than can really grow on you, i guess. kind of like the drawing style in the exploding dog site. i particularly liked the issue on bloodbaths. heh! white ninja is right. bloodshowers are much better, not to mention more sanitary.
pugad baboy
an unofficial site of pugad baboy, a popular filipino comic strip running in the newspaper philippine daily inquirer. like most filipino comic strips, pugad baboy is a humorous take on life in the philippines. pugad baboy, which literally means "pig's nest", is a small village of mostly fat people, hence the name. the comic is mostly in filipino though. an english version is yet to be produced. perhaps an english translation has already been produced and i just don't know about it. you can try googling for it. who knows? you might get lucky.
dresden codak
a strange, surreally funny site with lots of philosophical and scientific topics mixed in with role-playing games, fantasy, and science fiction. though there's only one artist, this site features a variety of styles, from old style comics to manga.
minus
minus is a little girl with magical powers, living in a seemingly ordinary world. she talks with ghosts and uses her powers to amuse herself and caused mischief. what makes this online comic stand out is the fact that the artist paints (watercolor methinks) the whole thing on illustration board and then scans into the computer. now that's a large flatbed scanner! whew! the style kinda reminds of the old tin tin comics for some reason...

this is a free filipino message board site. it contains adult content and is not suitable to be browsed by children. nuff said.
motorcycle philippines
a message board site mostly about motorcycles and riders in the philippines. its name is a dead give-away really. though i no longer frequent this site, it's still a good site to visit if your cup of tea is motorcycles. last i checked, membership is free. all you need to do is register.
