From JD.
As time for is here to improve this city is short, I shall endeavor to be concise. We are here in this dilapidated cesspit of a Domain by order for most of us, so we will work together so that perhaps we can move along. Have I made my point? ... Good. However, I must state that for the record, it is my full belief that I may never be granted a reprieve therefore I intend to build this city and its encompassed domain to be as a shining point of light in this long darkness of our unlives. An ideal of epic proportions that we have not seen on this world since the likes of Rome in its glory, Constantinople, Camelot... you get the idea. What's that? Yes, I heard you... and no, I will hear no more grumbling about myths. Now if you are through with your nonsense?
Now. Point one of our business, our own clan Ventrue. We are on our own in this city, gentlemen. The Ventrue of nearby cities look at this Domain with hunger. I state now, this Domain is ours and will stay as such. All non-resident Ventrue are to be treated with due respect, but in the highest suspicion as well, in a convert manner. The exception to this rule is the Justicar and his Archons. No deals are to be cut with outside Ventrue without my approval.
Point two. All other Camarilla clans. We are going to cooperate with all the other resident clans of this Domain in their efforts to build this Domain. Not only that, we are going to be contributing to every improvement effort they get off the ground. Understand? Keep me posted.
Now as for the other Clans:
Gangrel:
These individuals are dedicated to the protection of the city. I salute their courage and their efforts. Every evening we have without an outside incursion, you can thank them for. We will be contributing to their efforts with equipment and I, in my free moments will be joining their patrols. Some of you with combat skills will be expected to join in. Those of you without can see me later for training. Because of our proximity to Sabbat territory, this matter has priority. When in the field, listen closely to the Gangrel Primogen, Harry Leeland. He will guide you efforts in the Field and has proven to be not only a wealth of knowledge, but a stalwart warrior and ally as well. Make friends of them-- genuine friends. It will mean our survival, and theirs.
Tremere:
Mind your tongues and manners around them. Help them where and when you can. Genevieve is as trustworthy as I have ever seen in a Tremere although I cannot help but wonder what her secret agenda is for up until now she has shown no agenda whatsoever. Leave her to me and make no deals with any Tremere without my leave. In this case, should I find out about it later, there will be a reckoning. As far as thier agendas go; do not pry, do not dig. Genevieve has been described as the Ice Queen: this may be so. I view it like this; you are only seeing the shell -- like an exquisitly crafted vase, beautifully frozen in time and brittle. Why the craftsman made it that way could be useful infromation, but what it contains is the real mystery... and the real prize.
Toreador:
Yes, they are indecisive, yes they are flightly. They will be the key to beautifying the city and for the creation of an image of the city. I have not quite figured any of them as being of further use as of yet, but there has to be something more there... keep close eye on them.
Malkavian:
I have a feeling that they are one of the "wild cards" in this city that will be our unexpected saving grace. As unorthodox as that may sound, sift through what they say and find the gems of wisdom hidden therein. Be patient and kind with them... above all, listen. Especially to the Primogen, Kristoph. Of mad men and wizards I have seen many; legend holds that Merlin was mad... but hear me now when I say htis; he was mad because he knew...
Brujah:
With the recent influx of Brujah in the city we have a bit of a situation on our hands. I can see that we have both factions of thir clan as can be seen in Samo and Lithos. Normally that would be an inter-clan issue. This time it is not. Watch and learn about Lithos and his agenda. Do not interfere without direction from myself or Harry Leeland. Samo's energies should be directed towards rage with Chicago. If he does anything anarchist in this city, notify me. Stop it without any confrontation if you can. If he openly acts against this city and its inhabitants or the Traditions, stop him then and there. We have fought wars before, we will not be cowed or destroyed by him and his like.
Caitiff:
Of the newcomers, I know not much. Curb your sharp tongues toward them. One named Joseph is emerging as a leader of them-- him... well, him I like. I challenge you all to find someone as selflessly committed to the Domain and all that we are trying to do here. Disrespect him or harm him and you disrespect and harm me. Aid them how you may.
Sabbat:
They are a very, very real threat here. Keep all of your senses, contacts and resources keyed for contact with them. Whatever you may find out about them, no matter how far fetched it may seem, you must report as soon as you are able. There is war here, gentlemen; and this Domain is the battlefield.
Garou:
They are the concern of us all, but avoid them at all cost. Let Harry and his Gangrel deal with them.
Ghouls:
Useful as always, beneath us as always. But have we not all benefited from such a faithful friend one time or another? Give respect where it is due only, not where it is demanded. Because of our situation here it will behoove us to befriend them and guide them. Among them may be one worthy to be Ventrue when the time is right... Besides, who guards your days?
Archon Braddus:
When dealing with him, always be polite and brief. Very brief. And if he hands you something to read, read it out loud and without hesitation.
That is all for now. Come see me for your individual assignments. Any who give less than their full cooperation will not be around for long. I, the Grey Knight, swear it.
