This page is dedicated to a book series that I believe deserves special recognition. In my initial searches, I found only a few sites that were about the Animorphs. The Animorphs series could become the next very big Sci-Fi phenomena, right up there with Star Trek.

The story begins when 5 normal kids decided to take a short cut home from the mall.  They decided to go through the construction site, while en route they encountered a damaged Andalite fighter. The craft landed and an Andalite prince emerged to tell them about the Yeerks, a race a parasitic enslavers who were secretly invading the minds of human. Elfangor, the Andalite prince gave them a weapon to find the Yeerks on Earth. The power to morph, the power to become any animal they can touch and 'acquire', but this weapon carries a terrible curse. If you stay in animal morphs for more than 2 hours, you stay forever. 

  The five kids are Jake, Rachel, Cassie, Marco, and Tobias.   Tobias was trapped when the group tried to free Jake's brother Tom from Yeerk enslavement. However, Tobias recently regained his morphing power from seemly all powerful being called the Ellimist.

Andalite-One of the races that still fights the Yeerks.  Supposedly their mighty Dome Ships can make short work of the Yeerk equivalent; Pool Ship. Andalites are a cross between a deer, a human, and a scorpion. They look like a mythical creature called the Centaur.  They walk on four sturdy legs and have the upper body of a human.  They have no mouths and so communicate telepathically. They have two normal eyes and two eyes on top of two stalk protruding from the top of the head. They have a bluish color fur and eat through their hooves.  They developed morphs technology and have very long strange names.  Ex. Axmili Esgarrouth Isthil, Alloran Semitur Corrass.  Only one Andalite has been made into a Yeerk host.

Yeerk-Yeerks are a parasitic race of slugs. They are about 3 inches long and are gray in color.  They enter through the ear by stretching and contorting their bodies. They attach their neurons to the host neurons and wrap around the hosts brain like a living blanket.  They are ruthless and extremely cocky.  They spread through the galaxy like virus, only the Andalites can stop them. Their home planet is barren, has few plant and animal life, they have some shallow oceans. Their sky is green and streaked with lightening. Yeerks need special nutrients called Kandrona rays. These kandrona rays radiate out from the Yeerk's home sun.  Yeerks must drain out of the host's head every three days to soak up these rays in places called Yeerks pools.  These pools are usually hellish places filled with the screams of the hosts as the Yeerk drains into the pool and the host gains control again. Some hosts just cry, other just scream, some dare the Yeerks to kill them. The free hosts are kept in cages.  The voluntary hosts get sit on a couch and watch TV, drink beer, etc.  As strange as it sounds, some people actually choose to hand over their minds to the Yeerk.  The Yeerks prefer it be this way.

Hork-Bajir-The Hork Bajir were once a very peaceful race.  They had no natural enemies. Although the Andalites tried to save them, all Hork-Bajir are Yeerk hosts.  Only two Hork-Bajir are free, they were rescued by the Animorphs in book 13. Hork-Bajir a nasty looking creature, they have many blades. One on each wrist, one on each knee, and two or three on the head, depending on the gender. The head horns protrude from the fore hear and curve backward over the head like prison bars. If you go to the official page, the drawings portray the horns straight up.  This is impossible because in book 13, Rachel morphs a Hork-Bajir and Tobias rides on her head horns.  If these horns were straight up, Tobias could not do this because he was trapped as a red-tailed hawk. The Hork-Bajir have these blades because they are adapted to eating tree bark.  Yes, tree bark, but with a Yeerk controlling them these blades become lethal weapons. They are 7 ft tall and very fast.

Taxxons-Taxxons are giant centipedes, all Taxxons are voluntary hosts. They are cannibalistic and live with a constant raving hunger. The first half of their boies are held upright with conic type legs. Their eyes are placed on two stalks above the head, the eyes look like globs of jello. The mouth is also on top of the head, the mouth is lined with very sharp teeth. On the Taxxon homeworld, there is a resistance group called the Living Hive. Under the leadership of the Nothlit Arbron, the Living HIve resists the Yeerks.

Kaflit Bird-Used by Elfangor when he was a warrior cadet on the Taxxon home world. The Kaflit bird has 6 pairs of wings.

Mardrut-Used by Visser 3.   The Mardrut is a massive beast that lives in an ocean on one of the Andalite's moon's.  It moves by sucking in and shooting out water from 3 large biological cylinders.  It is a fast and tireless.

Lebtin Javelin Fish-Used by Visser 3.  The Javelin fish is colored very brightly, it is a too gaudy for Earth's oceans. It sucks in water and then uses that water to propel a spear through the water toward the unfortunate victim.

Leerans-Aqautic species. The Leerans are being invaded by the Yeerks, but the Leerans are phycic.  The Yeerks can not deceive them, and thus the Leerans are putting up a fight.  The Yeerks decided to go for a full force invasion instead, but they needed a soldier for the water. Visser one started the project to mutate shark brains to along a Yeerk.  This project was foiled by the Animorphs.

Gedds-Small, monkey like creature. The first species the Yeerks invaded, the Gedds a mostly blind, they have average hearing and an average sense of smell. They are clumsy and are given only to low ranking Yeerks.

Skrit-Na-The Skrit-Na are foragers, the go from planet to planet stealing objects and abducting various species. They are actually two species, they are born as a Skrit, which is a sort of catapillar. Skrit are dumb, slow and blind. After about a year as a Skrit, they weave a concoon and one year later out pops a Na. The Na are smooth and small, they are smarter than the Skrit.

Pemalites-An  ancient race they are peace loving, doglike, a playful. When the Andalite were just learning to use fire, Pemalites were capable of faster that ligfht travel. They created a race a androids called the Chee. Chee means 'friend'.  The Pemalites were slaughtered and killed by a race called the Howlers.  The Howlers used biological weapons to infect the Pemalites.  About a 100 or so Pemalites and Chee escaped to Earth, but the Pemalites were doomed. Only six remained when they landed on Earth, the Chee couldn't save them so they fused the Pemalite playfulness inot wolves and from this union, Dogs were created.

Howlers-A race of killers, ruthless, merciless. They killed for the shear pleasure of killing. The wiped out the Pemalites and who knows how many others.

Ellimist-A seemlt all powerful race that likes to meddle in the affairs of other species.  They are very similar to the Q from Star Trek.  An Ellimist gave Tobias back his morphing power and restored the time line when Elfangor and Loren altered in with the Time Matrix.

Veleek-Veleek means 'pet' in the Yeerk language. Veleeks were discover by Visser 3 on Saturn. Veleeks a made of millions and billions of  living dust particles. These particles have tiny jaws that can shred anything in have. It feeds on the energy that it's victims give off as they die. The Animorphs destroyed it by luring it into the water by morphing a whale.

Mortrons-Extinct race used by Visser 32 in Andalite Chronincles #3 to attack Elfangor and Loren. They rest on two wheels and produce an enzyme that causes them to regenerate themselves when hurt. The enzyme is mass produced during the battle fury and causes them to regenerate even if they are sliced in half.
