Admiral Rigel Bismarck
- Rigel Bismarck was once a simple boy, with little dreams of becoming anything other than
his father's successor. However, his father left him to go support the Rebellion when the
Civil War broke out.
- Never one to support the Rebels, Rigel enlisted in the military academy on Raithal. He
was always in the top of his class, and he graduated flight school with honors.
- The turning point in his career came when the ship he captained was crippled and lying
in the path of the wounded Executor at Endor. Bismarck gambled on an ingenious course of
action using the tractor beams of his Imperial Star Destroyer and an attacking Calamari
Cruiser to pull his ship out of danger. Repairs were made to his ship so that he could
retreat to hyperspace. With the ensuing chaos caused by the defeat at Endor, Rigel made a
name for himself, attacking and holding off Rebel Forces, despite the mass confusion the
Empire had fallen into.
- At Grand Admiral Thrawn's arrival, Rigel was elated. Finally, a man who could defeat the
Rebels had emerged and Rigel took this opportunity to study Thrawn and his methods,
learning much from Thrawn's style and using it to enhance his already potent abilities.
After the Bilbringi assault, Rigel moved into service as an Admiral directly under the
Emperor. His is a lesser known, but nonetheless valued name in the ranks of the Empire.
- This value has shown itself in a recent engagement at Sillesk (see fanfic "Family Feud").
It was at this engagement that he captured numerous Rebel ships and officers, his father
among them. His father's whereabouts are now unknown to almost everyone and Rigel plans
to use his father in his bid against the Rebellion. His home planet is currently being
turned into an Imperial bastion with a base designed by Rigel himself.
- But the reaper may be catching up to Rigel. Immediately prior to the Sillesk battle,
he had a run in with a Mystril guard from his past. Her intentions were to kill him, but
some fast-talking saved Rigel's hide. She left him uninjured, but who can tell whether
or not she will do so again?
- However, the man codenamed "the Undertaker" was unphased by the incident. He continues
to perform against the Rebellion and has recently adopted an alterego by the name of
"Captain Leichen Bestatter." (Leichenbestatter means Undertaker in the language of Ermang)
He uses this alias when he is forced to participate actively against the Rebellion in a
manner that may reveal his existence.
- Standing at 6'4", Rigel wears the traditional dress uniform of an
Imperial Admiral when on duty (and sometimes when not). His hair and eyes are brown. He
carries himself with the stiff-backed discipline of a soldier.
- With the abandonment of his father, Rigel developed the openings of hatred for the
Rebellion. At the academy, this anger was quelled in favor of the qualities of personal
service to the Emperor. These two characteristics combined with Rigel's incredibly quick
mind make him a valuable officer. Although ambitious, his first loyalties are to the
Emperor, his ship, and his crew respectively.
- Highly motivated Imperials are interesting sights and Rigel's motivations are
interesting in and of themselves. His goal is to become a Grand Admiral through his
efforts under the Emperor and his allies, Domino de Devastator in particular. His driving
goals, however, are the destruction of the Rebellion and the least loss of life in doing
so.
