Domino de Devastator was killed in a duel with Lord Martel. Then he
came back to life.
What follows is a little tale about what Domino did in the afterlife.
The locations in this story are products of conjecture.
There is quite honestly little or no information available on the afterlife in the SW
universe.
Therefore, what is written here is just a situation contrived by my fancy!
"Let the nightmare begin." he chuckled sarcastically as he entered the
limbo-esque trappings of the afterlife. "I won't be long for this realm, then I'll be
home again."
Domino de Devastator had died before and it hadn't been easy for him to return to life. If
he hadn't instructed one of his servants on what to do, he never could have made it
through the gateway between life and death. Now he was dead once again, but this time he
was dead for a purpose. He had a task to perform, and he had been able to take
precautions. The way back would be much easier.
Domino roamed the surreal dream-like landscape of the after-world for several hours
considering the virtues of existing in this state. 'No. It is far more pleasurable to
be able to enjoy life as a living, breathing being.'
The Sith Lord rounded the corner of a rock wall and saw a large structure in the distance.
"Ah! I have found the Hall of the Damned much sooner than I had thought I
would."
The Hall of the Damned was just one of many great gathering places for the deceased
spirits of Dark Jedi and Sith Lords. Domino plainly had business in this meeting hall.
Entering the monolithic structure, which appeared to be constructed of obsidian, Domino
discovered four figures conversing in the center of a cavernous room. Certainly this room
was filled with many spirits, but Domino was only concerned with the four. They turned to
regard him as he approached and one, obviously the most outspoken, and possibly considered
the leader of this enclave, beckoned to Domino. "By what name are you called?
To whom do you swear fealty?"
Domino recognized these four from ancient Sith holocrons he had studied. Jeov Telnadac,
Grand Duke Maklan Fazi, High Priest Vencin Pars, and Lady Hofni Belthar; all from an
ancient sect of Krath sorcerers well over 8,000 years before the fall of the Old Republic.
'No time like the present to attend to my mission.'
"I am Lord Domino de Devastator. I know you by sight. You are Grand Duke Maklan Fazi,
are you not?"
"I am, indeed." the Krath magician replied. "Now, Lord de Devastator, are
you newly deceased? Do you swear fealty to a more supreme name than your own yet?"
Domino could barely stifle his smirk. Instead, he assumed a countenance of amazed shock.
"More supreme than me? I serve, not out of fear, but out necessity, Emperor
Palpatine."
The four sorcerers laughed at this. "But he is not dead!" they called out.
"Yes!" Lady Belthar jeered. "You must serve the dead now, be it by fear,
necessity, or slavery!"
"Yes! Slavery!" the other three cheered.
"Lord Domino de Devastator has employed the Dark Side privileges for many years. Now
he will pay the Dark Side back by serving us." High Priest Pars declared, advancing
toward Domino.
"You are wrong." Domino announced defiantly. "In truth, I have employed the
Dark Side for many decades, but I owe it nothing. I owe you nothing...."
'....but your summary annihilation.' he finished the statement in his head as the
High priest grabbed him and attempted to force Domino to his knees. Domino knocked the
priests arms away from him and drew on the Dark Side of the Force, summoning a Dark Side
Web and placing it around the ancient dead man.
"I could never serve you. You are all weak!"
The ancient priest writhed on the ground as the web sapped his energy, filling Domino with
Dark dynamism. The remaining three began to call upon their own abilities, showering
Domino with bolts of hatred and pure beams of Dark Side wrath, as High Priest Vencin Pars
screamed his last and withered into abject non-existence. 'This is taking its toll upon
me.' Domino realized. 'I must vanquish these three quickly before I lose more than
I gain.'
Singling out the strongest of the final three, Domino enveloped Maklan Fazi with a new
Dark Side Web and then unleashed a concentrated volley of Force lightning on Jeov
Telnadac. Within moments, the Grand Duke had dissipated beyond recovery inside the web,
and Telnadac was reeling on the ground from the lightning assault. Lady Hofni Belthar
turned and tried to run from Domino, but it was too late for her. He had summoned another
Dark Side Web and shrouded her inside it. As quickly as it began it was over. Domino
walked out of the Hall of the Damned unchallenged by the remaining spirits, most of whom
had little or no power worth siphoning.
Domino approached the Hall of Light with arrogance. 'Dead Jedi, dead Sith lord.
What difference can that make?' he mused.
Entering the Hall of Light, he was confronted by five dead Jedi seeking to protect their
fortress. Laughing, he proclaimed his intentions. "It does not matter if you stand in
my way, I will take what I require."
In synchronization, the five Jedi drew their swords and stood their ground. Domino
attacked brutally, throwing a Force beam randomly into the torso of one of the Jedi,
driving him back with great power. The other four retaliated by swinging their blades, and
were taken by surprise when the unarmed Sith lord parried each blade simultaneously with
lightning. The lightning traveled the length of each blade and stunned the Jedi spirits,
incapacitating them. Domino quickly absorbed their essence and proceeded into the Hall of
Light.
Within several minutes, he came upon one of his intended targets, Master Arca Jeth. One of
the greatest Jedi Masters from the Sith War period, Arca Jeth had been dead for close to
4,000 years. Domino craved his essence.
"I know why you are here, Domino." the spirit of Arca announced from behind
Domino.
Whirling to meet the specter, Domino responded. "Then you must also know that I
cannot be defeated."
Jeth stood calmly, studying the dead Sith lord. "I do not know this. I know that you
are dead now, which means you have been defeated."
In anger, Domino lashed out with a Wave of Darkness, which Arca Jeth repelled with a
Lesser Force Shield, and retaliated with a telekinetic blow to de Devastator's torso.
Domino was surprised, but only for a moment.
'I must dispatch Jeth quickly!' Domino thought. Once again, he summoned a Dark Side
Web and threw the energy tendrils toward Jeth, but the ancient Master flipped over the web
and landed before Domino.
"You are dead. Accept that and finally be at peace." Arca reasoned.
"I am dead by my own arrangement. Here is all the peace I require!" Domino
backhanded the Jedi Master, then pulverized him with bolts of hatred until he was too weak
to defend himself. "Into the abyss, eh Master Arca?" Domino taunted as he
encased the Jedi with his vampiric web. Within moments, Arca Jeth had passed into
nothingness. Domino retreated from the Hall of Light.
'The Light Side is refreshing when added to my power, but not necessary. I must face
the ancient Sith lords now.'
"What?" the Dark specter raged. "Who is responsible?"
"I told you, Lord Sadow." the spirit responded "Lord de Devastator has been
vanquished by Lord Martel and now seeks to conquer the realm of the dead. I presume he
intends to control the after-world." the spirit cowered before Naga Sadow, long dead
Dark Lord of the Sith.
"No, you fool. Domino seeks not to gain control of the after-world, but to leave it
more powerful than he entered it. I have seen Deominians leave death behind before. de
Devastator has only three days to complete his task, then he is trapped here. He has now
been dead two days." Sadow was seething.
"My Lord Naga," the servant-spirit intoned, "Couldn't we just let him
leave?"
Naga answered the spirit with a bolt of hatred that obliterated it. "No! That is out
of the question! I will stop him personally, leaving him a powerless spirit indentured to
a dead Jawa!"
Domino walked for what seemed like centuries before reaching the crest of a small
mountain, discovering for himself the great gathering place of many long dead Sith lords,
the Sith Citadel. He proceeded through the doorway of the citadel of the dead undaunted. 'Certainly
the denizens of this stronghold will prove to be a higher challenge. I must be on my
guard.'
Within moments, Domino discovered how correct his assumption was, as he was ambushed by
three Dark Jedi spirits. He did not recognize them, but that did not matter. They had
assaulted him with lightning and he had to retaliate quickly. He summoned a Force beam and
threw it at the closest of the three, stunning the Jedi. Acting quickly, he called upon
the Dark Side and pummeled the other two with lightning, subduing all three of them with
stunning celerity. With the three of them stunned, he had no need to cast a web upon them
to drain them of their essence and simply touched each of them on the forehead to achieve
the same effect. Domino walked away from that exchange even more powerful.
Naga Sadow felt fear. For the first time in several millennia, he felt fear. 'Domino
will pay for this atrocity.'
Naga disappeared from the stronghold of the dead Sith and emerged from the shadows near
the Hall of Light, confronted instantly by a great Jedi Master from his own era, Master
Ooroo.
"Greetings, ancient enemy."
Sadow gazed at his nemesis with hatred. "Ooroo, I have come to propose an alliance to
annihilate Lord de Devastator."
"If you think this is the only way to stop his crime against the dead, so be
it." Ooroo replied.
Domino was approaching Sadow's chambers in the Citadel of the Sith as the spirits of
Ooroo and Sadow confronted him. 'Good, my journey will be complete soon.'
"Domino de Devastator." Master Ooroo declared. "You have committed a
grievous offense against the dead."
Sadow concluded, "We must not only prevent you from leaving the realm of the dead, we
must destroy you entirely."
Domino knew he would be angering the dead by leaching power from them, but he had not
expected two of the greatest Force users in history to ally themselves against him. 'I
will not be stopped.' he acknowledged to himself.
"The two of you together are not enough to stop me. I will steal your essence and
leave as I have determined to do before my death. All is going according to my
design."
Sadow struck out quickly with a bolt of hatred, as Ooroo pummeled Domino with a beam of
projected telekinetic force. Knocked off-balance for a moment, Domino was barely able to
side-step Sadow's Dark Wide Web as it reached out for him.
"No!" Domino cried. "I will not be defeated!" He unleashed his own
attack of hatred upon the dead warriors, smashing a bolt of hatred against Ooroo's head
and releasing the wrath of Force lightning upon Naga Sadow. The Masters from centuries
past reeled from the retaliation long enough for Domino to regain his footing.
Sadow tried the web again, succeeding in wrapping Domino in it as Domino encased Sadow in
a web of his own. The two Dark Side spirits writhed in agonizing torment for several
minutes, as Ooroo stood by and schemed how to add to Sadow's efforts.
It was a battle of wills between the two Sith lords, pitting resolve against
determination. After several more minutes, the webs dissipated and the Sith lords stood to
face each other. Unfortunately, Domino had forgotten about Ooroo. Forgotten, that is,
until he felt a wall of energy slam him from behind. He was knocked to his knees and Sadow
threw another web around him.
"NNOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!" Domino shrieked. Tapping all
of his energy, Domino attempted to throw off the web, but it was useless, the web held.
Domino could feel his energy being drained from him. In desperation, he reached out and
grabbed Master Ooroo and threw him telekinetically at Naga Sadow, knocking the Dark Lord
senseless.
'It worked!' Domino commended himself as the web fell from him. Sadow was stunned
and Ooroo had not been able to clamber to his feet yet. Domino enmeshed the great Master
in his Dark Web and began to drain his essence from him, as Sadow came around and
unleashed tremendous beams of energy at his foe. Domino flipped over the attack. It was
only a matter of minutes before Master Ooroo faded from reality entirely. Without an ally
to aid him, Sadow became desperate. He summoned a Force wind to throw objects at Domino.
de Devastator was stronger than ever before, but Sadow was fighting for his existence.
Naga slammed Domino's right hip with a large rock, dropping the Sith lord to his knees.
Sadow hovered over Domino, drawing upon every ounce of the Dark Side to finish the task at
hand. As he was about to release the familiar tendrils of a Dark Side Web upon his fallen
foe, Domino blasted Sadow with a Force beam and drew Sadow within the draining field of
his web, siphoning energy from the Force user. It was over in minutes.
Leaving the Sith Citadel, Domino began his journey back to where he started, near
the Hall of the Damned. He walked unchallenged, boldly traversing the realm of the dead.
one day later, Domino walked by the Hall of the Damned and noticed a purple glow ahead of
him.
'Darin has poured the Sevrakarn blood into the Domen Wellspring. I must not tarry a
second longer! The portal will only be open for a few minutes!' Domino ran until he
reached the field of energy, then he stepped into it. His journey was over.
