Battle Zone Technology: Imperial Spacecraft
TIE class Starfighters
- TIE/In: The classic eyeball. Precursor to all other TIE models. seats a pilot with nerves of steel! Flies at 1200 km/h in most planetary
atmospheres, a maneuverability rating of 20/55. Carries two laser cannons with a damage rating of 200 when fire-linked or 160 fired separately. Hull strength is a puny rating of 80. The strength of these ships is in the numbers, totally. Cost is 80 points.
- TIE Vindicator: The 10 meter long TIE Vindicator was the Empire's belated answer to the multi-role X-Wing fighter. It has a crew of 1. It has a hyperdrive rating of 1, and the navicomputer can hold 6 hyperspace jumps. It flies at 1050 km/h in atmosphere under most planetary
conditions, and has a maneuverability rating of 30/30. The weapons complement consists of 3 laser cannons (damage rating of
220 when fire-linked or 160 fired separately) and 2 proton torpedo launchers (damage is 360 each; magazine of 3 rounds per launcher). The hull and shield strength ratings are 80 and 40, respectively. Cost is 100 points. (Concept credit Galactic Conquest Sim, BZ implementation by
Kanaris)
- TIE Interceptor: The squint. An improvement on the inferior TIE/In. seats a similar pilot, only this fella had to graduate from the TIE/In by surviving battles, so he has a bloodlust that won't be satisfied (can't tell I favor Imperial weapons, can ya?). Flies at 1250 km/h in most planetary
atmospheres, a maneuverability rating of 15/40. This model sports FOUR laser cannons with a damage rating of
280 when fire-linked or 180 fired separately. The TIE Interceptor has a hull strength rating of 120, but still no shields. Cost is 120 points.
- TIE Bomber: The dupe. This TIE model is designed for bombing ships and performing ground attacks on planet based targets. seats only a pilot with great courage. It flies at 850 km/h in most planetary atmospheres, and maneuvers only slightly better than
the TIE/In (a maneuverability rating of 20/45) because of its low speed. The Bomber has 2 laser cannons (damage is
180 when fire-linked or 100 when fired separately) and concussion missile launchers (damage is 360). The Bomber has a hull strength rating of 180, and no shields. Cost is 120 points.
- TIE Avenger (formerly known as the TIE Advanced): Darth Vader's fighter in A New Hope was a prototype model of
this craft. It flies at 1250 km/h in most planetary atmospheres, and has a
maneuverability rating of 20/60. It has a hyperspace rating of 1, but the navicomputer can only hold up to 10 hyperspace jumps. It has two laser cannons that do a damage of 220 when fire-linked or 180 fired separately. The hull strength rating is 120, and it has a shield strength rating of 80. Cost is 130. A character must be Imperial to purchase this ship.
- TIE Devastator: Big Bo This vessel is an improved fighter bomber, with shielding, heavier armament and a hyperdrive. Unfortunately, like its predecessor the TIE Bomber, it still lacks adequate speed and maneuverability, and is thus an easy target for enemy starfighters and capital ship gunners. It is 18.4 meters long, and has a crew of 1. It has a hyperdrive rating of 1, and the navicomputer can hold 6 hyperspace jumps. It flies at 850 km/h in atmosphere under most planetary
conditions, and has a maneuverability rating of20/40. The weapons complement consists of 2 laser cannons (damage rating of
180 when fire-linked, 100 when fired separately) and 4 proton torpedo launchers (damage is 360 each). The hull and shield strength ratings are 180 and 40, respectively. Cost is 140 points. (Concept credit Galactic Conquest Sim, BZ implementation by
Kanaris)
- TIE Defender: A departure from traditional TIE design, the Defender has three solar collection panels spaced at equal distances around its body. This TIE version is faster than any other TIE, more maneuverable than any other TIE, and carries more firepower than any other TIE. It flies through planetary atmosphere at 1680 km/h and it has a hyperspace rating of
1. The maneuverability rating is 5/20. It maintains a high level of maneuverability in atmosphere as well but in the vacuum of
space the Defender is capable of dives and twists that would put the interceptor to shame. The Defender packs four laser cannons (damage is
320 when fire linked, 200 when fired separately), two ion cannons (ion damage is 160 when fire linked, 120 when fired separately), and two missile launchers (the missile launchers can be loaded with either proton torpedoes or concussion missiles. Proton torpedoes would do 360 damage, while the concussion missiles would do 240). The TIE Defender has a hull strength rating of 160 and a shield strength rating of 100. Cost is 150 points. A character must be Imperial to purchase this ship.
- TIE Enforcer: If the Defender was a "departure" from traditional TIE design, the Enforcer is a whole new mold altogether. The Enforcer has earned the nickname, "The Claw" due to it's four solar panels. Each solar panel contains an attachment site for a weapon. The cockpit remains in the center and is along the lines of the traditional TIE design, albeit improved with a high-gravity stabilizer so that it can maintain the control necessary to effectively use it's multiple weapons emplacements in a planetary atmosphere.
It is close to par with the TIE/Interceptor and the Rebel A-Wing in maneuverability. It may have 4 weapons on it at once. These may be Ion Cannons, Laser Cannons, or Warhead Launchers. Due to the mission specifics, these ships may be easily refitted as necessary. Weapons may be pair linked only, increasing laser cannon damage from 125 to 150 for each pair of laser cannons. Warhead launchers have a 360 if the fighter is using proton torpedoes, a 280 for concussion missals. Ion Cannons when linked go from 140 to 180. Standard equipment is 2 laser cannons, 1 warhead launcher, and 1 ion cannon. It flies through planetary atmosphere at 1250 km/h
with a maneuverability rating of 15/40 and has a hyperdrive rating of 2. It has a hull rating of 140 and a shield rating of 90. Cost is 150 (not available for
startup characters) and character must be under direct command of Domino de Devastator, Darin de Devastator, or Admiral
Bismarck to purchase even one of these. (design by
Ibran)
- TIE/rpt: Engineers working for the Imperial Warlord Zsinj created the TIE Raptor starfighter, which has superior firepower to the TIE Interceptor and TIE bomber and maneuverability equivalent to an A-Wing. It looks like an eyeball (crew of 1) with four photo-cell covered half-octagon wings sticking outwards. The front view is a "+" rather than the traditional "H." It flies at 1,050 km/h in most planetary
atmospheres, a maneuverability rating of 40/40, and is not hyperspace capable. The weapons complement consists of 4 laser cannons (damage is 240 when fire-linked, 160 when fired separately) and 2 concussion missile tubes (damage is 240 each). The hull strength rating is 200 and there are no shields. (It is believed Zsinj created a number of prototypes with shields.) Cost is 130 points. A character must be an Imperial military officer
formerly associated with Warlord Zsinj to purchase one of these ships.
