Equus

Equus..........................................90 points + 75 Shieldbreaker

Equus is renowned for his strength and for his untiring ability to work a forge. He is one of the finest weaponsmiths in The City-State of Remas. He was born in a small village near the mountains and his family migrated into the city during The Great Vermin Blight. He was apprenticed to one of the smiths working on contracts for the legions. He spent many years learning his trade as he grew into manhood. And grow he did, to become a giant of a man, standing nearly 7 ft. tall with great ropes of muscle. It is his great size and strength from which his name comes, he has been called "Equus" for so long people are not sure if he even remembers his original name. He stood with Horatio at the mouth of the tunnel that was accidentally excavated by workers building The Great Circus, and held back the hordes of pestulent vermin-ridden rodents known as Skaven. They fought, only the two of them, holding the tunnel mouth until the legionii arrived. After many hours of dire combat, the foul horde was driven back, and the tunnels were sealed. Equus has developed a strong friendship with the young patrician Horatio and he now accompanies him to battle and fights at his side.

Equus chooses to fight with a large hammer that he swings with mighty blows. He is not the fastest person, but his mighty strength makes up for it.

Magic Items

Shieldbreaker............................................75 points

Shieldbreaker is a mighty two-handed hammer that comes from ancient times and is made of an unknown black metal that no one has evere been able to score or to melt even in the hottest of forges. It has a hardness that is unknown to any smith, and it gives off an aura of ancient magic. The hammer was found in an ancient cache of weapons hidden deep in the mountains, and had been in the armoury of Horatio's family for many generations. No warrior had ever had the strength to wield it until the time that Horatio presented it to Equus.

The hammer adds +2 to the wielder's Strength and allows no armour save, even for magic armour. Furthermore, if the hammer causes any wound, you must immediately roll a d6 and if a 1 or a 6 is rolled, the victim's armour is destroyed. Magic armour will recieve the savings throw it would normally give to the wearer modified by the Strength of the blow.
