Many gamers have longed for a chance to reenact the
epic struggle between Good and Evil portrayed in the Lord of the Rings saga using the
Warhammer rules. This army book, couple with Warhammer: Forces of Darkness, will
allow you to do just that. There are some notable changes between this army book and "normal" Warhammer army books. First, you'll notice that there are a number of named characters in the Lords and Heroes section. There is a good reason for this. These aren't just special characters, they are the main characters of the story. For this reason, an army from the LOTR saga should always be able to freely include these named characters. Second, you'll notice that you can take a number of characters that is greater than in a "normal" Warhammer army. The reasoning for this is the same as above. Lord of the Rings is a saga based around its characters. In effect, they are the story. So it only stands to reason that you should be allowed to take many of these heroic characters in your army (also, you'd never be able to fit the entire Fellowship of the Ring into one army otherwise!). |
