Nicodemus

Patriach of the Great Mausoleum of Morr

Nicodemus...........................................380 points + 135 The Liberator of Souls

Total points = 515 points

Nicodemus is a tall, dark, and brooding in appearance, with hair of the darkest black, with the exception of a narrow white streak that runs across his right temple. He has been in the service of Morr since reaching young adulthood. When he was a young acolyte, he was sent north into the Empire to serve at a mausoleum in Altdorf, where he became involved in a mission to destroy the Necromancer Horgroth Fell-Sight, who was raising the dead in the catacombs beneath the city. Nicodemus went on the mission as the assistant of the High Priest Fulbert along with the Dwarf Daemon Slayer Ole Rolfsson, and the archer Henry Long-Sight. After several days, the band located the Necromancer and the High Priest attacked him with his spells, while the archer fired his mighty bow and the Daemon Slayer charged the Necromancer's fell henchmen. Nicodemus used what small knowledge he had to aid in the battle, but it was not enough. The battle soon turned against them, as the Necromancer and his foul Legion of Death were too strong. Nicodemus was struck by a stone thrown by one of the foul creatures, and when he awoke there was no sign of the Necromancer or the High Priest. He found the dead body of the Dwarf, but of the archer, there was no sign. After several days of wandering the catacombs, he finally found his way to the surface once more.

Nicodemus's superiors in Altdorf decided, due to the great trauma he had suffered in this battle, to send him home to Luccini. Before reaching there, he heard rumours that the Necromancer was attacking villages near the great mountain passes and he immediately searched out the commander of the Empire forces that had been sent to fight Horgroth and his Undead army. Nicodemus fought through several battles in the campaign against Horgroth, and was present when the Elector Count of Middenland slew the Necromancer.

After this, he continued on his journey home, but once again fate would direct him elsewhere. The Priest of the Gateway of Morr in a small mountain town asked his aid to enter an abandoned keep and slay the Vampire that was resident there, and that had been preying on the citizens of the town. Nicodemus, along with a small band of wandering heroes, entered the keep, and after an extended search and battles with lesser Undead and monsters, found the burial vault of the Vampire. They destroyed the Vampire and his burial vault so that he could not return to the land of the living. From this adventure, Nicodemus gained his great black sword that he wields to this day in the evergoing struggle against the Undead and Chaos minions.

After many years of service to Morr, and many quests and missions for the Great Mausoleum, Nicodemus rose steadily through the hierarchy of the Priesthood to become Patriarch, in which role he has now served for many years.
