Samurai Cavalry
Samurai are the ruling military caste. The word Samurai literally means Servant. These are the noble warriors who have connections to an overlord or daimyo.

Special: Samurai are not affected by panic tests when units of peasant troops flee past them. The samurai do not consider the Peasants as "real" warriors. Peasants are expected to run away when the going gets tough.

Ashigura Handgunners (Peasant Handgunners)
Ashigura are peasant warriors raised and trained by the local Samurai and Daimyo. They are warriors who are not allowed the wearing of the two swords. These warriors have been trained to use the primitive handguns available to them.

0-2 Shinobi(Ninja)
Shinobi are not actually Ninja. These are the warrior servants of the Ninja clans who are hired and trained to defend the Ninja clanholds.

Special: Deployment: Shinobi may be positioned on the table after both sides have completed deployment. They may be placed anywhere out of sight of the enemy and outside the enemy deployment zone.

Shinobi Hero

Special: Shinobi characters and regiments may be deployed after the enemy has set up. They must be deployed outside the enemies deployment area. Shinobi units may skirmish.

Shinobi Assassins
These are the greatest Ninja. They are the outstanding members of their clans, the ones that are called upon when the target must be eliminated.

Special: A Shinobi Assassin may take the place of any enemy model, as he is a master of disguise, only revealing himself when he strikes his blows at his target.
Shinobi Assassins are always loners, and may never join or lead any unit. Shinobi Assassins are immune to all psychology and never need to take Ld tests. If they are ever called upon to take a Ld test, they will pass the test automatically, so no dice roll is made.
Shikenja (Magicians)
The army may include as many battle wizards as you wish within the normal limitations of the points available. Shikenja may be selected from any of the four levels of wizards at the appropriate points cost shown below.

Magic: A Shikenja has one Battle Magic spell per magic level.
Magic Items: A Mage character is entitled to magic items chosen from Warhammer Magic. The number of magic items the Mage can have depends on their level and is indicated below:

Mage Lord...............4 magic items
Temple Dogs
Temple Dogs appear to be Jade statues of ferocious hounds the size of a large horse. They are magical constructs imbued with an elemental spirit of earth. Temple Dogs can only be ridden by Yamabushi Heroes They are the servants of their temple. The Guardians of the Temple Gate.

Special Rules:
Because of their stone like skin Temple dogs get a magic armour
saving throw of 5 or 6.
Their great weight makes temple dogs very good at smashing their
opponents. Whenever a Temple Dog charges it fights with a
strength of 10 for that round.
Temple Dogs are Immune to psychology.
Temple Dogs may be ridden by Yamabushi Heroes.
Temple Dogs cause fear as described in the Warhammer
rulebook.
Temple Dogs have a save against magic of 4+ on a D6, which they
also confer upon their rider.
