Special Units are extremely specialised troops that appear on the battlefield less often than basic regiments.

There is a maximum number of Special Units that can be fielded, and this varies with the size of the army (see "Armies of Kislev").

HILL TRIBESMEN

Points/model: 7


The armies of Kislev often contain many of the tribesmen from the hills that dot the land.  These fierce warriors move ahead of the main force, disrupting the opposing army's troops with their javelins and harassing attacks.

Weapons: Sword and javelin.

Options:

  • Any unit may be equipped with shields (+1 pt).
  • Upgrade one Tribesman into a Musician for +5 pts.
  • Upgrade one Tribesman into a Standard Bearer for +10 pts.
  • Promote one Tribesman to a Champion for +10 pts.

BEARS OF KISLEV

The Beastmasters of Kislev train the great bears of the North to fight the enemies of Kislev.  In times of war, they take their bears with them to do battle.

Options:

  • A unit of Bears must be led by a Beastmaster at a cost of +25 points.  The Beastmaster is equipped with a hand weapon, shield, and bow.  He may be given light armour for +2 pts.
