Long ago, man came upon the lands of the North. The land was fertile and ripe for civilization. It was beautiful as well, with great sweeping plains and high mountains. The land was settled, and soon became a new realm of man, with a complex social structure and a standing army made of thousands of warriors.

But nothing comes without a price. The lands of Norsca lie close to the Realm of Chaos, and are between many of the other realms of man. Constant invasions from the lands of Chaos and the other realms of man have left the Norscans a bitter people who base much of their civilization on war, for only the strong can survive in the lands of the North. The social leaders of Norsca also act as its military leaders. The people of Norsca are all trained in the use of basic weapons, so that in the event of a full invasion of Norsca all men may fight and defend their lands.

As a Norscan player you must be very careful and use all the various parts of your army together, in a highly coordinated plan. You don't have 'super' troops that can win the alone for you, so your units must work together and support each other to defeat the enemy. Nothing can be left to chance, because if you allow your opponent to conduct the battle on his terms you will likely face defeat. On the other hand, if you learn to use it well, an Norsca army makes a fine and balanced force, which is fun to collect and can be extremely powerful on the battlefield.
