Bronwyn

Bronwyn

Istan Weaver Crafthead

A rather pretty young woman stands before you, usually smiling and always dedicated and earnest as well. Her short blond curls frame a freckled face, prone to burning in the hot Istan sun. Her ice blue eyes stand out from her increasingly tanned skin, nearly overwhelming her delicate coloring and golden ringlets. Her thin, almost boyish, frame belies strength garnered from lugging heavy bolts of fabric around and working for hours on end at tapestry looms.

The weaver wears a short dress of finely woven, pale blue linen. A simple oval neckline sets off a throat bare but for a short silver chain. Sleeves that are just barely there expose long, tanned arms, the left wrist adorned with a matching bracelet of intricate silver links. The pale sky hue of the fine fabric is tailored to Bronwyn's curves through the torso, a line of round, black stone buttons running from neck to hem. The skirt drapes straight from her hips to a midthigh length, revealing long legs left bare but for a pair of brown leather loafers with a small, chunky heel.

Bronwyn wears the lavender and white knot of the Weavercraft on her shoulder.

Bronwyn comes from a hardworking family that still lives in her childhood home, a small cothold just outside of Fort Hold. Father Bronen is a herder, and Bron's mother Geneve helps with the herding and also does the normal work associated with a cothold. With three other siblings, life was often boisterous, but always loving. As the oldest sib, Bron developed a strong sense of responsibility, and is sometimes considered too sober by others. She came to Ista Hold at the age of 18, 5 Turns ago and apprenticed herself to the weavercraft, soon rising to the rank of journeyman through much hard work. In a surprising move, Master Lana was called to Southern Boll shortly after Bron rose to the rank of master, thus leaving a vacancy here at Ista. Bronwyn was appointed Istan Crafthead and assumed control of the weaverhall at the hold. Her 18 Turn brother, Kendric, is still at home, now tending to the herds and to the few runners that the family keeps. Sister Nelaia, 12 Turns, is also at home, missing her sisters occasionally, but mostly having fun and helping out her ma. Kylana, now 16, came to the Hold at her mother's bequest at the age of 15. The young girl, although sweet, was a bit too much for her family at home and it was hoped that living with her older sister would temper her somewhat and perhaps even help her find her calling. Much to Bronwyn's delight, Kyla decided to apprentice with the weavercraft, although soon after she was searched by Ista Weyr and Impressed a green, Laelyth. Since the Impression, Bron is back to her old work habits, with little play in between, although she does save time for a special friend of hers, Mikra. Although she has tried to keep their relationship a secret because of the potential for official trouble, nearly everyone in the hall, and quite a few others in the hold, know all about it.
