11. The Nagus

Summary

A. Grand Nagus Zek arrives for a Ferengi business conference on DS9, and announces that he is retiring. His successor will be Quark, to the chagrin of Zek's son Krax. Soon afterwards, Zek suddenly dies, leaving Quark as Grand Nagus--and the target of a plot to assassinate him, which is the work of Krax, in league with Quark's brother Rom. Just as they are about to void Quark out an airlock, Zek arrives, alive: he faked his death in order to test Krax, who failed miserably.

B. Sisko is opposed to Jake's friendship with Nog, until he catches his son teaching Nog how to read.
