16. If Wishes Were Horses

Summary

After reading Molly the story of Rumpelstiltskin, O'Brien is surprised to find what appears to be the character of Rumpelstiltskin actually in his quarters. Sisko and Jake are visited by their long-dead baseball hero, Buck Bokai, and Bashir meets an amorous doppelganger of Dax. Meanwhile, the station is endangered by a nearby spatial rift, as the inhabitants begin seeing manifestations of their imaginations everywhere. It is all the work of aliens studying the phenomenon of imagination: including the rift, which was conjured up by Dax's speculations. The aliens finally explain themselves to Sisko, and leave.
