29. Second Sight

Summary

On the day after the fourth anniversary of his wife's death, Sisko meets a woman who calls herself Fenna. He finds himself very much attracted to her, but she keeps disappearing on him. Even more mysteriously, there is no record of any such person on the station. Then Sisko meets Professor Seyetik, a terraformer who plans to reignite a dead star, and Seyetik's wife Nidell--who looks exactly like Fenna. Nidell is a Halanan, with psychoprojective telepathic abilities; Fenna is an illusory alter ego, composed of energy. With Nidell's abilities threatening her life due to the stress of marriage to Seyetik, Seyetik sets her free by dying as he ignites the star; Nidell returns to her people.
