53. Civil Defense

Summary

Sisko, O'Brien, and Jake are deleting some old programs in an ore processing facility on DS9 when a security program from the Occupation is activated. The computer believes a revolt of the Bajoran workers is going on, and soon a stationwide security lockdown is in place. Efforts to regain control of the computer only cause it to initiate a self-destruct sequence. Gul Dukat arrives to offer assistance if Kira will allow a Cardassian garrison on the station; then he too is trapped and forced to help. Finally, however, the forcefields are shorted out, communications restored, and Sisko manages to channel the explosion of the station's reactors into the shields.
