55. Defiant

Summary

Commander Will Riker visits DS9 on his way to Risa, and meets Kira, who gives him a tour of the Defiant, whereupon he stuns her and hijacks the ship. He is actually Tom Riker, a double of Will Riker, created by a transporter accident; and he is now a member of the Maquis. Tom and his crew head for the Orias system in the Badlands, believing that the Cardassians are staging a military buildup there. On Cardassia, Sisko assists Dukat in tracking the Defiant; Dukat knows of no such buildup, and it seems to be an Obsidian Order operation. Finally Kira and Sisko both talk Tom into giving himself up. Dukat will arrange prison rather than a death sentence, in exchange for the Defiant's sensor logs on the Orias system.
