56. Fascination

Summary

It's time for the annual Gratitude Festival on Bajor and DS9, a time to celebrate while putting troubles behind. Jake is despondent over his breakup with Marta, but Kira is overjoyed when Bareil arrives, and so is O'Brien to see Keiko and Molly. Odo is not so pleased when Lwaxana Troi returns. During the festival, several odd things happen around Lwaxana. Jake develops puppy love for Kira; Bareil lusts after Dax, who lusts after Sisko; Kira and Bashir lust after each other; and Quark lusts after Keiko. Finally the reason is revealed--Lwaxana has Zanthi fever, which causes her to unknowingly project her emotions onto others, in this case her love for Odo. She is cured with antibiotics.
