62. Prophet Motive

Summary

A. Grand Nagus Zek returns to DS9 a changed man: he has become a kindly philanthropist. Quark is puzzled and concerned for Zek's sanity, especially when Zek starts a charity and appoints Quark and Rom to help run it. Learning that Zek had recently been in the wormhole, and that he has obtained an Orb, Quark kidnaps him, takes him back into the wormhole, and through the Orb, speaks to the Prophets. When Zek had tried to gain advance knowledge of economic changes, they instead changed him to an earlier, non-greedy kind of Ferengi. Quark convinces them that they will lose their privacy due to Ferengi curiosity about what happened to Zek; the Prophets change Zek back.

B. Bashir is nominated for the prestigious Carrington Award, but doesn't win.
