70. Shakaar

Summary

A. Kai Winn, who has become First Minister pro tem, asks Kira to try and persuade Shakaar, leader of Kira's old resistance cell, who is now a farmer, to give back some soil reclamators. Shakaar will talk with Winn, but as Kira is conveying Winn's willingness, Bajoran security attempts to arrest Shakaar. Betrayed by Winn, Kira joins Shakaar and the rest of their cell as they go on the run, gaining popular support. At last they confront Colonel Lenaris Holem, but both sides wisely refrain from killing fellow Bajorans. Shakaar goes to Winn and announces his intention to run for First Minister. She withdraws.

B. O'Brien enjoys an unprecedented winning streak at darts.
