77. Indiscretion
Summary
A. Kira learns that a friend has obtained a piece of the Ravinok, a Cardassian ship which disappeared carrying Bajoran prisoners, including her friend Lorit. Surprisingly, Dukat joins her investigation, which leads to the ship's crash site in the Dozaria system. Kira finds out that Dukat had a Bajoran mistress, who, with their daughter Ziyal, was a passenger on the ship; she died in the crash. Dukat tells Kira he must kill Ziyal, because if it were learned he has a half-Bajoran child, she might be used against him by his political enemies. They find a mine worked by survivors of the crash, as slaves for the Breen, and liberate them. Kira prevents Dukat from killing his daughter, and Dukat instead decides to bring Ziyal home with him and face whatever happens.
B. Kasidy is disappointed by Sisko's lukewarm reaction when she takes up residence on the station, but they eventually make up.
