Mockingbird: A Quick Profile
Race: Human
Age: Adult
Sex: Female
Sexual orientation: Usually horizontal
Zodiac signs: Scorpio, Tiger
Positions on important issues:
- Like both dogs and cats (small cats, large dogs--especially Golden Retrievers)
- I started out on a Mac (ca. 1985) but am now using a PC--you just can't get a nice used Mac for $500. I use a PC at work anyway. I still don't like Windows--an OS should either be convenient and trouble-free to use or be arcane enough that you get geek points for knowing it.
- Morning person, if that. Conk out by about 11 p.m.
- Primarily a tea drinker, but I drink occasional coffee to be social or stay awake. It gives me heartburn, though.
- Coke and Pepsi are both fit only for dissolving things in school science experiments.
- The new millenium doesn't start until the end of this year.
- I would just as soon not have an Honor Harrington movie. I have my own ideas about what the characters, ship interiors, etc. look like and would just as soon not have them messed with by Hollywood.
- If we just ignore Pokemon, it will go away.
- I never watched a single minute of Survivor.
Favorite movies:
- Live action, with Bogart: Casablanca
- Live action, without Bogart: Star Wars (Bogart would have made a great Han Solo, though)
- Animated: The Wrong Trousers
Last movie actually seen: The Perfect Storm. Liked it pretty well, and coincidentally I was in Gloucester two days later, which was cool. Also just rented The Bridge on the River Kwai, which features both a pretty interesting plot and a lot of nicely-built half-naked men.
Favorite books:
- Randall Jarrell, The Animal Family
- Robert Musil, Der Mann ohne Eigenschaften
- The Honor Harrington series by David Weber
- The Aubrey/Maturin series by Patrick O'Brian
