My ONGOING Campaign
Why I created this page

This part of my website is dedicated to new players of Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D). If you want, you can check out my ONGOING campaign. This section will be updated every time I play in the campaign. The DM's name is Brian Mann and the other player's name is George (I don't know his last name). (This page is not yet operational) AD&D is a role playing game (RPG). In any RPG, you create characters and then "pretend" like you are those characters. For a beginning player, all you need is some polyhydral dice and the Player's Handbook. Oh, and of course a Dungeon Master (DM). DM's: To be a DM, you need a lot more items than the players need. You need the Player's Handbook, the Dungeon Master Guide, and the Monster Manual. You also need a set of dice. There are many more items which I recommend. The only other thing that you would probably need is a campaign setting (described below). Campaign Settings: What campaign settings are is the world the player's adventure in. Although the DM can make up his own world, it is not recommended for beginners. The campaign settings provide you with nonplayer characters(NPC's), locations, maps, etc. Everything you need for a world. For beginners, I recommend the Forgotten Realms, not only can you find it at any bookstore, but it doesn't have any variant rules like most of the other campaign settings do. What DM's do: The DM is the "brains behind the operation." It is their job to keep the players heading in the right direction. They create the world, the allies of, and the enemies of the players. To be a DM, you need a lot of patience. It takes a lot of time to create a world. You should also try to watch yourself from letting the players get too powerful. This is a common mistake among DM's. Remember that players are supposed to be weak. Don't let them rely on their ability scores and magical items. Keep them on their toes. It actually makes the game go a lot smoother if there are several potholes in the player character's (PC's) lives. Kind of ironic. Isn't it?

THIS PAGE WAS UPDATED Jan. 5, 1998. And just so I know, how many people are happy with the Wizards of the Coast buy out of TSR? Could you sign my guestbook and tell me this please?
