The builders left, but not completely,
they still try to hold on. Maybe greed
makes them do it, maybe some kind
of nostalgia. There was a time when
this space was The Place, when the
money flowed and the rich built
grand palaces. But now it’s all gone.
Almost. Fingers still clutch, not
letting go, not giving up on what was
once theirs. And so those who now
live there don’t belong.
No-one belongs here anymore.
