Gerudo's Fortress

Only Adult Link is able to enter the Gerudo's Fortress. Time stands still here, but there is only a minor difference between the daytime and nighttime versions. Two Pieces of Heart and two Gold Skulltula can be found here.
Before you have the Gerudo Card, the guards will arrest you and put you into a cell. The way to avoid getting captured is by getting the Gerudo Card by freeing the carpenters from the Thieves' Hideout.
Once you have the Gerudo Card, you are able to thoroughly explore the Fortress. You will also have access to the Gerudo Training Ground, the Horseback Archery Range and the Haunted Wasteland.
The entrance to the Haunted Wasteland is in the far west of the Fortress. The entrance is blocked by a large gate, but behind the Gerudo guarding the gate is a tall ladder which leads to the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper will warn you of the dangers in the wasteland, but will be happy to open the gate for you regardless.
You don't have to complete the Gerudo Training Ground, but you should just as a test of your skills. If you succeed in clearing the fortress, you will get the Ice Arrows. The entrance to the grounds is marked by a large gate with a Gerudo guarding it.
The actual fortress of the Gerudos has several entrances and exits, making it a long and winding interior maze. There are several powerups to be found in there, but nothing outrageously nice.

CYBER PREDATOR'S RECORD
With shattered pots:
1 920 points
Without shattered pots: 1 800 points

Adult Link with Epona One of the most popular Gerudo pasttimes is Horseback Archery. If you can prove your skill, you'll pretty good prizes: a Piece of Heart the first time you get 1 010 points or better, and once you gain that you can get a Quiver upgrade if you get 1 510 points or better. The biggest possible score at this game is 2 000 points.
Once you have the Gerudo Card, a new area appears on the map. Ride Epona to this area during the day (the range is closed at night) and there will be a Gerudo near a brown horse. When you are on Epona's back, talk to the Gerudo. For 20 Rupees, she'll let you have one attempt on the range.
There are five targets at this game: hit the target along the outer third for 30 points, the middle third for 60 points, or the centre third for 100 points. Shattered pots are worth 100 points each, but the skilled player should try for a good record without breaking the pots! For the best possible results, try these tips:

  • As soon as Epona starts galloping, ready your bow and arrow and get ready to hit the target.
  • Try to take out all the pots when you first pass them. This can give you 700 easy points with just seven arrows!
  • Try hitting the lollipop targets at the end of the run as soon as it comes into range. Keep trying to hit the bulls-eye until you absolutely cannot hit the target.
  • Let Epona turn around, getting ready to lob at the three main targets where the pots were. Again, only fire when you are certain you'll hit.
  • When you come to the second lollipop target, use the same tactics which worked on the first lollipop target.
