Haunted Wasteland

|Ocarina of Time| |Home Page|

Theroetically Adult Link is the only one who can enter the Haunted Wasteland; Young Link can enter from the Desert Colossus, but he can do little but walk around. There is only one Gold Skulltula to be found here. Don't even think of entering the wasteland without...

  1. Lens of Truth
  2. Longshot or the Hover Boots
The Haunted Wasland is the area between the Gerudo's Fortress and the Desert Colossus. The Wasteland is structures so that it is basically a one-way street, going from the Gerudo's Fortress to the Desert Colossus.
When you ask the gatekeeper at the Gerudo's Fortress to allow you into the wasteland, she'll tell you that you must follow the flag markers along the wasteland to the resting place of the Phantom Guide. Along the way to the Guide, you'll encounter the River of Sand; the easiest way to cross this river is by using the Longshot to grapple the crates on the far side, but you can also use the Hover Boots.
As you follow the flags, you'll come to a sign pointing you in the direction of the Magic Carpet Shop, but you'll need the Hover Boots to reach it. For 200 Rupees, the Magic Carpet Merchant will sell you Bombchus.
When you reach the stone tower, climb using the steps along its circumference and you'll come to a plaque which tells you that an inviting ghost will appear to one who has the Eye of Truth. Now, activate the Lens of Truth and follow the guide; it's easier if you follow him with Z-Targeting locked. Watch out for the Leevers who will appear and attack Link; just ignore them and continue along your merry way.
Once you reach the end of the Haunted Wasteland, you'll find yourself in the Desert Colossus.
