THE LOST WOODS

• Requires Saria's Song. Enter the Woods from Kokiri Forest and turn left, then stand on the tree stump. Play Saria's Song to the Skull Kid.*
• Requires an ocarina. Enter the Woods from Kokiri Forest and turn right, then go down the ladder. Climb onto the tree stump and the Skull Kids will lead you into a random tune. Keep with them for three sessions, which don't have to be in succession, and they'll give you a Piece of Heart.*

• Requires a Bomb, the Golden Scale or the Iron Boots and the Zora Tunic. Head for the stream in the north-west corner of the field. Now look south for a lone tree; Bomb its base and enter the grotto.
• Requires some Bombs and at least 10 Rupees. Near the entrance to Lake Hylia is an area which is fenced in on all four sides. Bomb here to gain access to a hidden grotto with a Business Scrub who will sell you the item.*

• Enter the Market at night, when the dogs are out. If you walk in front of the dogs, they'll follow you around. Head for the white dog who's trapped between the Bazaar and the guy who moans about dawn taking forever to come. Now take this dog to the woman in the Back Alley, who tells you hers is missing. With the right dog located, she'll give you a reward.*
• Requires at least 20 Rupees, and preferably the Lens of Truth. Enter the Treasure Chest Shop and get to the end and you'll gain this one. For an easy way to find it, use the Lens of Truth to reveal the contents of the chest!
• Requires a Bomb Bag and at least 30 Rupees. A random prize at Bombchu Bowling is a Piece of Heart.

• Head for the south-most perimeter of the ranch. Along here is a door leading to a room full of blocks. Move the blocks out of the way so you can reach the back corner, where there's a crawlspace. At the other end of here is the prize.*

• Requires at least 50 Gold Skulltula. Head for the House of Skulltula, and the freed youth will give you this one.
• At Impa's house, there's a Piece of Heart enclosed in with the cow. As Young Link, scale Death Mountain to Kaepora Gaebora so you can land on top of Impa's house. Now jump down onto the awning and you can enter through a crack and gain it. Adult Link can simply head into the chook corral, then climb right up onto the awning by jumping onto the crates and then to the crack.*
• After completing a race with Dampé, you'll find yourself inside the Windmill. Play leapfrog over the moving platforms to reach this easy-to-find Piece of Heart.*
• Requires the Longshot. Use it to grapple the roof tiles, and work your way to the top of the Potion Lab. Talk to the bloke there, and he will give you this.

• Requires the Sun's Song. From the Royal Family's Tomb, face the left bank of graves. Now pull the second grave from the right to reveal a hidden area. Jump down and defeat the ReDead, then play the Sun's Song on the platform where the ReDead was to make a chest appear.*
• Requires at least 10 Rupees. Head for the Graveyard between 1800 and 2100: for an easy way of getting this time, play the Sun's Song in Hyrule Field and enter Kakariko Village just as the wolf howls. Dampé will now be on his Gravedigging Tour: pay him to dig and a Piece of Heart is a random prize. To increase your odds, only pay Dampé to dig over sand, not the cobblestones, and don't make him dig at the same spot in succession.*
• Requires a Magic Bean. As Young Link, plant the bean near where Dampé's grave will be in the future. Now enter the future and ride the Magic Plant up to a hidden platform. Use a Rolling Attack on the crate to reveal the prize.+
• Requires the Longshot. Re-race Dampé and gain a time of one minute or better (my record is 58 seconds). To gain this time, DO NOT deviate from the necessary route or get hit by the fire Dampé tosses. Also, when it comes to the final stretch over the bottomless pit, grapple the torches near the exit.

• It's best to have planted the Magic Bean to get this one. From above Dodongo's Cavern, where you tossed the Bomb Flower to blow the boulder, use a Backflip to get down to the ledge. If you've planted the Magic Bean, Adult Link can simply ride it to reach the ledge.*

• Requires a Deku Stick or Din's Fire, some Bombs and Zelda's Lullaby. Ignite all of the torches on the bottom level of the city, using the torch in Darunia's room if you're using Deku Sticks. The central pot on this floor will now rotate. Now head for the second-last level and toss a Bomb into the pot: when the Bomb blows, the pot will go haywire and spit out a random prize. One of them is a Piece of Heart.

• It's best to get this one as Adult Link so you can use the Goron Tunic. Enter the Crater from Death Mountain Trail and directly in front of you is a ledge you can climb down. Keep going down and you'll be able to reach a small crevase with the Piece of Heart.*
• Requires the Bolero of Fire and a Magic Bean. As Young Link, play the Bolero to warp to the Crater. Near where you enter is a patch of soft soil, so plant the bean and return to the Temple of Time to become Adult Link.
  Now, as Adult Link, ride the Magic Plant to the top of one of the smoke stacks and you'll be able to obtain this.+

• Adult Link requires the Hover Boots, and Young Link needs to have a chook in his hands. Proceed past the Frog Chorus until just before the bridge. Now, look back at the large cliff and you'll see a small platform; jump down to the platform and you'll eventually come to a ladder. Climb up the ladder and to the top of the cliff (Young Link must capture the chook there). You can now reach the ledge with the Piece of Heart; Adult Link directly, but Young Link needs to play leapfrog along the platforms to get at the right distance.*
• Adult Link requires the Hover Boots, and Young Link needs to be carrying a chook. Travel to the Sleepless Waterfall and turn around to face the Piece of Heart: jump straight to it to reach it.*
• Requires the Song of Storms. Play this song to the Frog Chorus and they'll give you this for bringing the rain.*
• Requires Zelda's Lullaby, Epona's Song, Saria's Song, the Sun's Song, the Song of Time and the Song of Storms. Play all of these songs to the Frog Chorus and you'll be able to play a bug-catching game, in which you use the notes of your ocarina to make the frogs catch the bugs. Keep catching the bugs and you'll gain a Piece of Heart.
  By the way, the requires sequence is: A C< C> C Down C< C> C Down A C Down A C Down C> C< A.*

• Requires Din's Fire or Deku Sticks. Head for King Zora's throne room, then carry the flames to the unlit torch along the passage you took. A chime indicates that torch will never go out. Now ignite the four remaining torches: near the Zora Shop, in the shallow water near the fish, and two behind the waterfall. It is possible to get behind the waterfall without losing the ignited Stick. That done, a chest will appear behind the waterfall.*

• Play leapfrog over the ice floes, but instead of hopping to the left and the entrance to the Ice Cavern, hop to the right to obtain this easy-to-find Piece of Heart.*
• Requires the Iron Boots, and preferably the Zora Tunic. Dive to the very bottom of the fountain where the Piece of Heart waits.*

• Requires a bottle. In the same room as the Compass, there is a Piece of Heart contained within some Red Ice.*

• Requires the Golden Scale. Head for the Lakeside Lab and dive to the very bottom of the pool. Now talk to the scientist and he will give you this.*
• Requires at least 20 Rupees. At the Fishing Farm, break the owner's record of the biggest fish caught and this will be your prize.*
• Requires the Scarecrow's Song and the Longshot or to have planted the Magic Bean. Get to the top of the Lakeside Lab, either using Pierre or by jumping from the Magic Plant. Now, KO the patrolling crow and climb the ladder to the very top of the lab, where this Piece of Heart waits.*

• Dive down the large gorge, where the giant waterfall is. You'll land in the water but you can swim to a platform. Head towards the waterfall and dive into the currentless water behind the waterfall. From here you can climb a ladder to a hidden area with the Piece of Heart. Adult Link can also ride the Magic Plant.*
• Young Link needs to have a chook in his hands, and Adult Link requires the Longshot. As Young Link, dive to the far side of the gorge and you'll come to a platform with a box. Adult Link must jump down to the platform with the silver boulder, then use the Longshot to grapple the box. Once there, use a Bomb or a Rolling Attack to reveal the prize.

• Requires the Hookshot and Scarecrow's Song or the Longshot. Work your way to the top of the fortress and you'll see a chest. Get close to it and play the Scarecrow's Song to summon Pierre, then use him to reach the right platform. If you have the Longshot, then you can reach it by getting above your cell, then grappling the chest.
• Requires the Gerudo's Card, Epona and at least 20 Rupees. Score 1 010 points or better at the Horseback Archery Range.

• Plant the Magic Bean, then return to the Colossus as Adult Link. Ride the Magic Plant and you'll be able to reach the Piece of Heart atop a stone arch.
