The OTRDAYS Listeners Club is a group of old time radio fans who listen to and discuss classic radio shows together. We schedule a different show every four weeks and listen to them at the rate of two episodes per week. The episodes are chosen at random, but we try to make sure we have a good sampling from the show's run. The members of the club listen to one or both of the week's scheduled episodes and then post their comments on the episodes for others to read and (hopefully) discuss further. There is no set format for the discussions - reviews, random thoughts, parodies, whatever. Just be respectful, and enjoy discussing radio's golden years!
The programs are available in MP3 format from several sources.
First, you can get them online via Streamload. Visit http://www.streamload.com to learn about this web-based file-sharing service. You can download the episodes that we are currently listening to for free by visiting http://www.streamload.com/bradgillespie/OTRDAYS-LC. Contact moderator Brad Gillespie at bradgillespie@yahoo.com to get the password required to access the files. If you would like to get our entire set of 2006 scheduled programs online, create an account at Streamload (trial accounts are free), and contact Brad to have the files sent to your account.
Second, you can participate in our on-going distribution of a 2-CD set of the shows that we are listening to in 2006 in MP3 format. The minimum requirement for this distribution is that you have a CD burner to make a copy of the discs for yourself or approximately 800 MB of hard drive space to which you can copy the MP3 files. To get these discs, go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OTRDAYS-LC/database, and click on OTRDAYS Listeners Club 2006 CD Set Distribution List. Once in the database, click the Add Record link at the top of the table. Enter your name and address to be put on the list to receive the programs, and click Save Record. When the distribution comes to you, send an email to the group to let us know that you received it. Then copy the discs, and mail the originals on to the person indicated in the database. Finally, send the group another message to let us know it is on the way again.

OTRDAYS is an OTR distribution group that is the "parent" group for the OTRDAYS Listeners Club. The moderator of this group is one of the moderators and founders of OTRDAYS. The OTRDAYS Listeners Club was originally called OTRDAYS-Suspense, as it was a discussion group that covered radio's theater of thrills, "Suspense". After a year of "Suspense", we decided to branch out to other OTR programs and thus renamed the group.
