The Trina Parks Collection of the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts
The New York City Public Library for the Performing Arts has the following items about Ms. Parks in its collection:
Call # *MGZIA 4-2564 A memorial, tribute, celebration of the life and art of choreographer/dancer Mr. Talley Beatty [videorecording]
About an hour into the video, Trina, with two other women, performs "Danza." This one is a lot of fun and worth the trip to the library all by itself!
Call # *MGZHB 12-924 Negro spirituals (Motion Picture) A performance by senior modern dance students of the famous New York City School of Performing Arts. The third number is Trina Frazier's performance of "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot."
Unfortunately, the film is shrunken and brittle and must be watched with a hand viewer. Even so, it is quite an experience to see Trina's silent, ghostly image flutter so beautifully across the darkened stage.
Call # MGZB Trina Parks Programs
This item is the printed program from Ms. Park's performance with the Anna Sokolow Dance Company at The Hunter College Concert Bureau's presentation of its Third Dance Series.
Call # *MGZHB 6-953 Ritual and dance (Motion picture)
A performance by junior modern dance students of the School of Performing Arts. Trina Frazier is among the dancers.
The helpful staff was unable to locate this film while I was there. I hope to be able to see it on a subsequent visit.
