The Deepwater Black CD: Inclonation

Inclonation, Volume One was released late December 1997 in Canada in most music stores (A&B Sound, HMV, Future Shop), and it went for about $20 (now being May 1998, I am not sure if those music stores are still in stock, but A&B Sound most likely has it).

There was only a little hype about it, most of it among the DWB fans, but there were a few commercials for it--a print ad in What! magazine, and I saw an ad for it on TV from HMV a few weeks before Christmas.

The CD has not been released in the US, although there were plans for it--might be distributor problems. Since I don't live in the US, I can't really give very much insight on this. It could always be because of the cancellation; there has been nothing said about the CD (or anything else) since the Producers stopped talking.

Unlike most traditional soundtracks, the CD was for songs that fit the show rather than songs that had already been used on the show. As the inner cover on the CD says, "These tracks do not necessarily appear in the Deepwater Black series, but do represent a part of the producers' dwb psyche."

I know that it's a very touchy subject right now, but you can download Prodigy's The Heat (The Energy) as an MP3; it's probably about 3 or 4 MB, and I can't say anything about the reliability or waiting time for the server. Hey, it's not against the law to link, is it? =D

Samples of the tracks can be found at Deck 5: Sounds, Page 4.

Unfortunately, when the Deepwater Black official site went down, information on how to order the CD directly from PEG music was lost. You can try e-mailing Peg Music for information. Also, by e-mailing that address you can order a free temporary DWB tattoo, which I guess was part of the deal with Empire.

The Deepwater Black CD page at Peg Music's website isn't very much.

You can read my review of the CD, or you can read What! Magazine's.
