My Jew- Wiccan Research

I was always interested in religions, and naturally I learned about the Jewish religion (it wasn't hard, I was all Jewish then...).
When I began to study Witchcraft, I noticed many similarities between the Jewish religion to that of the Craft.

The Jewish religion had changed very little over the past 5000 years, and it's roots are as you will see here, are close to nature, the seasons and the moon.

There will be more on the Cabala soon.

I do not mean to offend neither the Jewish religion nor the Wiccan one.
If anyone feels he is offended by me comparing this two wonderful religions, please turn back now.

Holidays
Many of the Jewish holidays are also attuned and refer to the seasons of the year (unlike the Moslimin religion for example where holidays can be one year in the middle of the  winter and the next year in the summer.).

* There is a Jewish holiday that is been held in about the same time as the Imbolc, called Tu Bishvat (which is also the Hewbro date of this holiday).
The holiday is also called 'The Tree's new year' , and on this day, many people plant new trees all across the country.

*A holiday that marks the time when Moses leaded our people out of Egypt, Passover. A holiday that is also known as 'The first true day of Spring',
for the past 50 years, we get a week of vacation before the actual holiday, to help our family clean the house for the holiday (spring cleaning!!!).
Again we find mush similarity between that and Ostara.

* Beltane, is a perfect match by date and customs to Lag Baomer, a holiday that is famous for the fire camps that everyone lit, another traditional custom is that this is a very lucky day for weddings, sounds familiar???

* The Jewish new year is called Rosh Hashana, and is being held very near Mabon at the beginning of the Autumn.

This is a Jewish prayer, sang each Friday night, to summon the good angles from the sky, it sounded so similar to the Wiccan way of summoning Deities to a circle that I give it to you here. If you want to use it- feel free!

"Shalom alechem Malachey Hasharet, Malachey Eliyon.
Boachem leshalom Malachey hashalom, Malachey Eliyon.
Barchuny leshalom, Malachey hashalom Malachey Eliyon."

("Hello and peace upon you, angels of serving (Deities..), angels from above us.
I welcome you in peace, angels of peace, angels from above us, bless me with peace, angels of peace, angels of heaven.")

"Tzetchem leshalom Malachey hashalom, Malachey Eliyon.

("Merry Part (may you leave in peace), angels of peace, angels from above us.")

Notes on pronouncing: The words here aren't easy to pronounce when you're an English speaker, read the words EXACTLY the way they are written.

The CH, is a replacement for a verb that does not exist in English, pronounce them as the letter H.

This might help a little:
Malachey: mal-a-CHEY
Eliyon: eli-YON
Barchuny: bar-CHU-ni
Tzetchem: tze-t-CHEM
