Welcoming.
When a Witch is doing a rite or a spell, or anything that involves energies, she usually ask for help. This is not as many of the people think, summoning or calling, this is a request and an invitation. Many Witches like myself do this right after the circle is cast and the Elements have been welcomed.

There are many forms to this help, most of the Witches ask for the help of Deities, those are magickal entities, that are also been referred to as 'Angels' or 'Gods'. Each of them has a name according to the tradition the Witch follows and the energies the Deity is 'in charge'.

Another way that was simpler for me at first, was welcoming Totems of animals, again those are represented by animals and have different characteristics.
