Personality: Newt is somewhat of a paradox. There are times when he sits back and simply listens and observes, appearing almost shy. But in reality he is simply analyzing his environment, memorizing everything prior to action. Once he takes on a project, and is set to action, he works with frenzied speed and almost haphazard approach. Yet when asked, he always knows where he's at .. where he's been .. and where he's going in regards to his project.

He works best alone, though he needs information from others. Once he has the information, it is best to just let him at whatever it is he needs to do.

He will not readily approach strangers, but once in contact will not hesitate to tell them what to do. And he can be quite forceful in this. When working he tends to 'spread out' often times encroaching on the space of others.

Newt has a need for adventure, and was somewhat of a daredevil on a skateboard. His need for adventure is what brought him to the FBI.

Quirks: He likes colorful clothing, and is disdainful of suits in blue, black or brown.

Hobbies: Skateboarding, hiking/climbing .. loves tools

Background: Newt comes from a close knit family. Though he always seemed to be the outsider they never quite understood. For the most part he kept to himself and focused on his own interests, which included Science Fiction, space travel and extraterrestrials.

He used his skateboard as his rocket ship, and he hiked endless miles of Forest Preserves and State Parks in search of extraterrestrials. His mind was never far from the thoughts of meeting ET's and visiting their worlds. His mother told him he had quite and imagination. His sister's called him weird. His older brother was involved in his own life. Newt only had his brother, Paul who was a year younger then he was, to explore with.

Paul was sickly however and died at the age of 12 of juvenile Leukemia, leaving the 13 year old Newt even more alone.

Newt found his niche in his father's tool shed where he spent many hours making and fixing things. He made all sorts of things out of old parts. He especially enjoyed fixing various things.. or adding on to already existing electronics, appliances and his sisters hair care products.

Throughout his college years, while he found himself excelling in Engineering, his interests were varied. He spent hours playing Role-Playing games with friends. They also enjoyed playing paint ball war games, like capture the flag. While not particularly athletic, he did like these outings into fantasy, and being somewhat of an adventurer and daredevil he tried, bungee jumping, mountain climbing and even was able to go sky diving once with an instructor.

The draw to the FBI came while in college. One of his roommates was in Criminology. And his career goal was the FBI. Newt enjoyed listening to his roommate talk and so after graduation, he threw his name in for Training.

He couldn't have been more excited when he was accepted. Though his parents thought he was wasting his time and should get a job once he got his degree.
