"Well, looks like we're going to be roommates for the night," Kate stated,
smiling at both Sandra and Eithne.
"Yup," Sandra replied, looking around at their room. Three beds and a
hideaway on the couch; at least each of them got an actual bed and didn't
have to duke it out.
"Even got cable," Kate added, turning on the TV to what looked to be HBO and
began flipping through the channels.
Sandra took the time to survey their room. While smaller than some, it was
certainly large enough to house the three women comfortably, provided none
of them had packed a FULL wardrobe or such. There were two adjoining rooms,
plus a bathroom, each with its own sink. All in all, it was, to say the
least, homey.
"Hey guys, take a look at this," Kate called slightly, turning the volume up
on the TV. "Looks like the college has its own television station."
Two students were on the front in what was obviously a news broadcast.
[Police are still looking for the missing girls, all of which have been
taken in the past three months. Four have been found dead, presumedly by the
same perpetrator. Investigators have little to go on, and rumor has it that
the FBI has been called in...]
"Well, *that* was sure fast," Eithne exclaimed mildly, unpacking her small
suitcase. "Word sure travels fast."
Sandra was just about to comment when she noticed another hand reaching onto
the scene. The student took a proffered paper and, reading its contents,
visibly wilted. [There has been....another death. Two hours ago, the body of
Ann Sheperds was found...] The boy, unable to go on, handed the paper to his
neighbor; the camera panned on the girl now with the story.
the girl stated, face pale but voice steady,
All three women stared at the TV, then looked at each other. "Here we go,"
Sandra murmurred as they headed out to tell the rest of the group.
