Sharlyn walked onto the airplane & sat down. Her whole body was tense as she looked out the window. Kate glanced over at her.

"Are you ok?" she asked.

Sharlyn looked at Kate & shook her head. "I'm terrified of planes. I've always hated flying. I never knew why though..."

Kate smiled at Sharlyn & nodded understandingly. Sharlyn sighed. Maybe if I listed to some music, it'll help take the edge off, she thought to herself. Reaching inside her backpack purse, she pulled out a book, her portable cd player, & her Blues Brothers 2000 cd. She put on the headphones & began to read the book. Soon, she was humming along. She didn't even notice when the plane took off. After the plane had been flying for a couple minutes, it began to shake. Luggage & other various objects flew everywhere. The captain's voice boomed over the loudspeaker.

"Excuse us, but we seem to be having some turbulence problems. They should be corrected in a few minutes. For the time being, please sit back and..."

A gunshot stopped the announcement. Sharlyn ripped off her headphones & looked around.
