World's End National Park, Woods. 10:30 pm
Delta made their way back slowly through the woods towards their cabins, their progress hampered by Agent Cohen who seemed very interested in exploring every tree and plant that they passed by. The walk back was seemingly uneventful until they were hit once again by another bright light. As they all fell into a defensive posture, they realized that this light was coming from a helicopter flying overhead. As the spotlight played upon them, they heard the familiar hum of the rotors going and started to walk the final leg towards their refuge.
When they made the clearing, they were met by several forest rangers and EMT's from the local hospital. The chopper turned back towards the woods and started to look for anyone else that might be there. The look of confusion must have been evident on Kate's face because one of the rangers stepped toward her with a smile on his face.
"Hi there, is your group alright?"
Kate looked at the ranger in front of her and said, "I believe so. We have a person that may have suffered some sort of trauma. We found him in the woods. What's going on?"
"I'm sorry, where's my manners." the ranger said, taking of his hat. "I'm ranger Docker, World's End Forest Reserve. We received a report that there might have been an explosion somewhere near here. Witnesses observed a bright light accompanied by a loud noise, so we scrambled our team to this area to
look for possible victims.... or survivors."
Kate nodded at all this, looking at the team of EMT's that were working on the rest of her team. "I'm Agent Kate Calloway, FBI. We're here investigating some disappearances that occured in this area. We may have found one of them."
Docker looked at Calloway, then towards the rest of her team. He's gonna have to keep a close eye on this bunch, they nearly stumbled over one of their testing grounds. First things first, neutralize that agent they released, then work very closely with this bunch. Who was it that said, "Keep your friends close, but keep your enemies even closer?"
"Well, let's get you all checked out and we'll be leaving. If you have any questions or need any assistance, give us a buzz and we'll do what we can to help." Docker smiled once again as he shook Kate's hand.
"Thanks." Kate replied, "We'd appreciate it."
One of the EMT's came by to make sure that Kate wasn't hurt too badly as Docker made his way to the test subject that they found in the woods. The man was babbling and giggling to himself as the EMT's carried him towards the waiting ambulance. Docker looked off towards the woods as the helicopter was circling
the area where the test had gone off. The cleanup crew should be on their way there to remove any trace of what happened. Docker climbed into the back of the ambulance with the subject and rode with them to the area hospital. On the way, he reached into his pocket and activated a transmitter that would effectively send Agent Cohen into a deep coma. After a few tense moments, when the technicians worked on stabilizing Cohen from the sudden seizure he had just had, Docker looked out of the rear window and thought to himself, "3 more days, I just need to hold them off for 3 more days."
