[Hoover's Hollow, 11:45am]

> "You got it, Texas. Straight from the heart of New Orleans. So, how long
> were the two of you with unit Bravo?"

Randa was sitting back casually in her chair, running a fingernail along the grain in the table, having heretofore successfully avoided any conversation with the other agents. She was still half-asleep, having been told about the transfer the night before and taking a red-eye flight back to Baltimore.

She looked up at Anne and said, "Not for very long -- long enough to help wrap up the case and fill out the paperwork." She managed a forced, but believable, smile, then returned to her earlier actions.

Anne nodded, remembering seeing something in her file that said she'd taken personal leave about a week and a half after Bravo's last case. Apparently, it had been something relating to one of her sisters, or so said the request form. She was almost about to ask about it when she was interrupted, first by Ernie bringing their orders out to them and secondly by Agent Edwards.

"I can't place your accent very well, Agent Williams," he began. "You're from the US, right?"

Randa nodded. "California, but my father's from Havana and my mother's from Barcelona. Most people don't think I'm from anywhere around here," was her slightly off-handed reply, after which, she returned to her previous silence.
