Elven Outpost Overview

You may have noticed mention of such places as Greenglen, Nillin's Bush, Shadeside, Westend, etc. and a reference to their location being within the grounds of the Deetil Forest. Alternatively, you may not have (at least not yet). Well, you won't see those names appear in the PC's Guide or very many places at all! These are small elven camps that have been established as "lookout towns" if you will, founded to provide added protection for the secluded elven city of Coninaar. These camps are small with a population of no more than 50-60 elves. They are very well hidden and enjoy adequate defenses. Allow me to share some information on those you will hear of, some more than others of course:

GREENGLEN : This fortified town, largest of the outposts, lies to the northwest of the forest, very close to the scene of the deer's death. It is the largest of the outposts housing about 60 Threndir, mostly archers, and perhaps another 70 elvenresidents. The town is situated in a sunken glen surrounded by oaks. The location looks "artificial", in that it has just enough land for building houses amidst the typically hilly terrain. The surrounding, almost perfect, wall of rock, earth, and trees adds to the appearance that the colony was 'planned'.

WESTEND : This outpost is about as west as you can get in Deetil's big green forest. With nearly 60 elves, it has frequently clashed against dire wolves, undead, and even some trolls coming from nearly all directions. Westend arguably contains the most battle-hardened elves in all of the satellite colonies. The entire colony rests on the branches of large norken trees, secluded by their huge leaves and flora. For purposes of defense, the elves also maintain a small fortified area beneath their homes, ensuring the protection of their working lift.

SHORESIDE : This small fortress is towards the southwest, near the coast. It has a beautiful view of the ocean. In fact, the view is SO good, that the Wrone Barony has many times offered to purchase, if not rent, the land from the elves to establish a small lookout post/encampment (unaware of Shadeside's presence there). Though the elves were honored that the Barony was respectfully negotiating for the land instead of taking it by force (the traditional human method) they still declined. They feel the Barony's intentions are genuine, but are concerned that it could be used as an "excuse" by many humans to access certain areas of the forest they should not be treading in.

NILLIN'S BUSH : This tiny outpost towards the north of the forest. It has a small lowland plain just south of it where the elves enjoy some farming capabilities. With a small population of only 40 or so elves, Nillin's Bush is the smallest of the colonies. It lies just south of the Pallurien (Deetil's Trail) hidden amongst fallen oaks and a few scattered redwoods.
