INCOM Acme of starship design Ship Logo
Designed after the Defiant Class warship was proven unsucessful. It incorporates several of the same designs but in a much smaller package. Overall hull design has led to a simpler shape with a high degree of structural stability, while maintaining a warp efficient design. The main power and weapon systems were downgraded but are still extremely powerful for the ship size.
The pulse phasers of the Defiant have been cut to one bank of four while smaller phaser banks are placed around the ship for complete coverage. Oversized reaction control thrusters allow the ship to be extremely maneuverable in combat situations. The compact design leads to a small target that inhibits accurate targeting.
Superfast shield generators replentish the sheilds in less than half the time or ordinary ships, although overall efficienty is somewhat lower. Construction costs are very low and the ship is able to be produced in great numbers if need be. During the development the Abram was never considered experimental since many of the features were already tested, hence the lack of the traditional NX on its registration number.
Note: It is one of the few large Starfleet vessels able to make planetary landings. It is a defense ship, to be stationed around bases, not meant for long range trips or extensive battles. To be deployed in small groups of 4 or 5 as needed.

Model Notes: This ship was designed to go with my DS9 model, the overall size is less then an inch so it was hard to get into any details. I did do a write up on it for another web page of mine.
