INCOM Acme of starship design Ship Logo

The U.S.S. Mitchell was the first vessel designed for Starfleet by Incom. It made use of existing designs, the typical saucer of the era and lastest in warp drives. The saucer was lightened by removing the outer edges, plus recessing the torpeod tube bay in the front (also seen on the Typhoon class). The pylon configuration was simple, using the standard pylons in a straight feed to eliminate at least one turn junction in the system. With 2 torpedo tubes aft and 3 forward it was well armed. Shielding was top notch and a prototype of an ablative armor was tested, hence the gray pattern on the hull. A typical phaser array was used but power was limited by the smaller warp core.

Model Notes: My first attempt at modifying a starship. The hardest part probably was getting the outside edges parallel with the centerline of the ship. I had to reinforce the pylons with a bit of plastic rod but after years of hanging it still is quite sturdy. I have yet found a suitable part to create the front torpedo tubes out of.

All starships are models I have created.
