"Mary, Mary, quite contrary, how does your garden grow?" If I were Mary, I would say,"By the warm embrace of the Sun, the gentle caress of the Moon, and the love of the Earth, and by the grace of the Great Mother."
Herbs are a traditional and versital tool of the witch. They have different magickal properties and uses. You can burn them as incense. Cook them as flavoring in food. Mix them with alcohol as a tonic or tincture. Mix them with wax or lard as a salve or balm. And they have scientifically proven healing properties (of which I don't list only because I am not a doctor or a holistic healer).
WARNING!!!! Many herbs are poisonous!!! Some of them you can't ingest, some you can't burn, and some you can't even touch. If you are making a concoction for somebody else, please make sure that they are not ALLERGIC to it FIRST!!!! Please consult the Poisonous Herbs list before using any herb mentioned on this site, but please make sure that you research the herb yourself to double check. If you find any herbs on our site that ARE poisonous but are not listed on the Poisonous Herbs list, please e-mail me.
Thank you.
