Mulled Wine
3 1/8 cup dry red wine, such as Merlot
1/4 cup granulated sugar, or to taste (My taste and Maroki's taste say at least a whole cup)
1 pinch ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon ground cardamom
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Zest from 2 whole lemons
Zest from 2 whole oranges
1 cup water
3 whole cloves
2 cinnamon sticks (broken)
Estimated cooking time: 25 Min
In a saucepan, combine wine, water, sugar, cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, allspice, orange and lemon peel. Bring to a simmer over low heat. Simmer for 20 minutes.
