The Incredible Hulk
by Stan Lee
art by Jack Kirby, Steve Ditko, Bob Powell, and Gil Kane
Like Origins of Marvel Comics, this compilation of Marvel Comics was released by Fireside Books, a subsidiary of Simon and Schuster. Unlike other softcover Fireside collections, this one was larger (perhaps a consideration of Hulk's huge bearing) measuring roughly 10 by 12 inches. It is a great volume to read early Hulk comics.
This collection includes:
- Incredible Hulk #3
- Fantastic Four #12 (first Hulk vs. FF issue)
- Avengers #1
- Tales to Astonish
- #60-67 (Ditko)
- #68-74 (Kirby)
- #78 (Gil Kane)
Although it is hard to find, this book is a great collection of these early reprints. It's too bad it's no longer around.
